But he also promised to restore and optimize American military effectiveness.

Sometimes promises conflict.

I just wish he pitched it to Congress even though it falls within Presidential prerogative.

Apparently, the Generals told Trump, the trannys were a problem. Good for Trump, listening to those who know whats going on.

Sounds like one of the best things he's done yet.

Hey, if he presents actual data that suggests transsexuals are a problem, then maybe he has a point. However, so far he's only claimed generals told him they are a problem. His false claims run from the weather on his inauguration day to being responsible for NATO fighting terrorism. And that Obama was from Kenya. And that he's not in trouble in the Russia investigation. And...

I'm kind of surprised he did it.

ROSELLA is right in that he ran on a very pro-LGBT platform. I honestly thought he had other priorities.

But politics, priorities, and realities on-the-job make people contort. This is just one of those occasions.

Sounds like one of the best things he's done yet.

Since when does protecting LGBT rights mean, "Join the Army, and we will pay for your expensive sex change."? (But, then we don't know what the heck we'll do with you, since you won't, then, match any of the qualifications you joined under.)

Well if we're going to get into the meaning of rights, joining the military has been a duty and a privilege. Never a right in the strictest sense of the word.

When does protecting LGBT rights mean, "Join the Army, and we will pay for your expensive sex change."? (But, then we don't know what the heck we'll do with you, since you won't, then, match any of the qualifications you joined under.)

I agree the army shouldn't pay for sex changes. There's a difference between letting transgenders join and paying for their sex change, though.

We have two transvestites in our congregation. (Both still sporting full male equipment between their legs, but wearing dresses)
And, to tell you the truth, both of them are a few cards shy of a full deck. I would NEVER have served in combat with either of them.

And Transgenders are WAY stranger than just wanting to be a woman.

Unit cohesion is life or death.

Two don't equal all. My aunt and uncle claim to both be Christians. I don't know them well because they live states away and there was a family feud between them and my grandparents and I didn't know they existed until I got older. But my Uncle calls African American children by a name I can barely even think, only replaces the "gers" at the end with "lets." Yet, most Christians would be horrified at this.

Also, transvestites aren't the same as transgenders. Also, Trump didn't serve at all. He's quick to point out his superiority over those that did though...

There are quite a few young males who came back from Iraq and Afghanistan, who wish they could have their genitals back. These fruit loop trannys want us to pay to have theirs cut off. These nut jobs don't really care about service. They just want Uncle Scam to pay for the surgery and hormone drugs.
The military is in the enemy killing business, not the free tuition and body modification business.

Prior federal military service is not a requirement to be president.

I've never had a baby, but I can sure spot a bad mother in a heartbeat.

No, but I find it a bit hypocritical for someone who's never served to say a group of people can't serve (provided they're not criminals or physically unable to).

Gasp! Someone's resorting to insults related to child-rearing in a debate that's not about that? I've never...oh, wait. That happens all the time.

His generals are the one who advise Trump on this. I know you hate Trump, but the Pentagon has been grumbling about this since Obama made the order to allow them in.
There are over 1.5 million people in active service for the federal armed forces. You can't allow a few to interfere with all of them. Most people including me want absolutely no contact with a tranny. It is a mental disease that is not being treated properly.

Hate? No. Am I angry at him for being a terrible person? Yes.

As I said, as far as I know he's only said that generals have told him. If he presents evidence to back up his statements, then he has a point.
