Trump urged Mexican president to end his public defiance on border wall, transcript reveals

According to transcripts of President Trump's early conversations with President Nieto of Mexico, Donald Trump told Nieto that Nieto to stop telling the public that Mexico wouldn't pay for Trump's wall, telling the Mexican president “You cannot say that to the press,”(something that Trump has no authority to determine) because then “ The press is going to go with that, and I cannot live with that.” As if it was Nieto's responsibility that Trump made promises he had no way of enforcing, Trump audaciously mentioned, "“I have to have Mexico pay for the wall— I have to. I have been talking about it for a two-year period.”

Sometimes I think Trump Is more concerned about his Image than he Is the American people.sigh.

I agree. It's one thing to be a narcissist, but he seems to genuinely believe anyone who doesn't see him as God's gift to mankind or who disagrees with him is either stupid or a liar. When you read everything he said to Turnball and to Nieto, he seems confused as to why they don't deem bailing him out of taking responsibility for actions the president needs to handle as top-level priorities.
