Luke 12:13-34

Someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.” But He said to him, “Man, who appointed Me a judge or arbitrator over you?”

Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.” And He told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man was very productive. And he began reasoning to himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?’

Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.”’

But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’ So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

And He said to His disciples, “For this reason I say to you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!

And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life’s span? If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.

But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You men of little faith! And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.

“Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

I'm rich because I am happy and content with what I have. Family, a roof over my head and food in the fridg and a God who loves me. What more do I need?

I am, but not according to public opinion.

Here's how much money it takes to be rich in America

The world bases a person's wealth by the amount of money he has. What do you base your wealth on?
Well I am blessed . I have a treasured wife an two daughters . Besides that I have the most valuable treasure one can imagine. I have a Heavenly Father that has blessed me beyond my imagination.
So yes I am very blessed and exceedingly wealthy.
Blessings
Bill

Most Americans below the poverty line live better than a monarch.

If you were born under Old Glory after WWII, you've been rich all your life by historical standards.

And life is still rough. Imagine that.

"We’ll cut to the chase: Those of you who call yourselves rich have a median income of $425K and a net worth of $5 million.
A little more than we would have thought (more on that below), but reasonable.

With those numbers you should have a couple of houses, a few cars, your kids’ college paid for, and retirement sorted out as well. Nice work if you can get it."

Aha... nice. And now something from the European side:

"On the Swiss plains near Zurich, ecological experiments are being carried out since May. With the help of giant fans and filters, Climeworks exhausts carbon dioxide from the air. The $ 23 million project (over half a billion crowns) is called "the world's first commercial carbon dioxide capture plant."

Extracting a ton of CO2 costs $ 600, the plant is able to clean 900 tons of oxygen a year. According to Reuters, the equivalent of emissions that only 45 Americans or 200 cars will contribute to global warming per year, Vice News reported. Yet, investments in such technologies, according to scientists, are worthwhile to support."

Also, who does not know, we got to the point the sources of our planet are not sufficient for our life style, this month. To the rest of the year we are living on a debt.

Anything above our needs is not our money for personal use,but for the poor and needy,so we can never be rich, unless we disobey God,and it is quite sad according to the flesh,to not be able to enjoy the fine things in life, but good in the Spirit that the poor and needy are being helped.

But the true riches is being in Christ, and the riches of the world does not compare to the riches God gives us,for what can beat eternal life, and the peace, love, and joy,of the Holy Spirit, when the world can be disturbed.

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

A person could gain the whole world, all the possessions, and money thereof, and it does not profit them in the long run.

2Co 6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

God blesses us with our needs, not our wants, for He loves people, and we must love people, and the saints appear poor to the world, although they have their needs met,but they do not have the riches of the world, and possessions,in which the world views those things as riches, and the saints appear as having nothing, but they possess all things to be given to them in due time.

Some Jews complained that they serve God,but it is vain, for the wicked do not care, but they prosper, and see no trouble.

Mal 3:13 Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?
Mal 3:14 Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?
Mal 3:15 And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.

What up with that, saith the Jews, that we serve God,but it is vain, and what profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, for those that do not even care about God live high on the hog,and have riches, and prosper, and see no trouble.

Mal 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
Mal 3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
Mal 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Now hold up,saith the LORD,there is going to come a day when you will see who is truly blessed, and who is not blessed.

Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Mal 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

How do you like them apples, saith the LORD,now you see who is truly blessed, and who is not,for those that care about the riches of the world, and their wickedness to not care about other people will cease one day,and be no more, but you will shine bright for all eternity.

Psa 73:1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
Psa 73:2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
Psa 73:3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Psa 73:4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
Psa 73:5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
Psa 73:6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
Psa 73:7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Psa 73:8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
Psa 73:9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
Psa 73:10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
Psa 73:11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
Psa 73:12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
Psa 73:13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
Psa 73:14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
Psa 73:15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.
Psa 73:16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
Psa 73:17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
Psa 73:18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

The world bases a person's wealth by the amount of money he has. What do you base your wealth on?
I have eternal life with God in His perfect eternal existence.. I am richer then all the wealth of the world combined a trillion times over.. Then you can multiply that figure by a trillion trillions... Then just keep on multiplying it for the rest of your life and you still will not scratch the surface of just how rich i am.. :D

I thought this was going to be an article about being rich in Christ. My bad!

Hmm! I guess I would use the word "comfortable" for my lifestyle. I have enough to eat, pay my bills, and wonderful husband of 37 years, 4 children, 4 grandchildren, and a paid for home and cars. And we have never made much money, just didn't spend much.

And then, there is my bountiful garden. I have fresh flowers as often as I want, fresh veggies for lunch and supper, tomorrow is the first borscht for the year. This year, my garden went in late, but I seem to be making up for lost time.

Wait, this isn't about gardening??? Say what? That alone makes me rich beyond measure, let alone all the other other blessings God has given us.
