This does not surprise me! There was a man, Yesuah bar Yosef, and the Sanhedrin put him to death for saying he was God. Why should his followers expect any different treatment by the Sanhedrin?

Obviously this would have implications with regard to civil laws.. but GOD is Greater than all and if two of His children wish to be united as husband and wife then they will be.

i see a tide coming towards those who believe in the Messiah because we are viewed as a threat to their evil agenda of claiming the descendant of king David is here on earth and their reign will commence etc.. Those that know and believe the Messiah is King know they are trying to create their birthright due to their Spiritual blindness. All things come to pass in good time but the closer they are to proclaiming the more they will oppress and try to deceive.

I was told that God's first name is George, not Joseph

Earthly father, not heavenly! As for Burns, well, that is another story!

this news comes in the form of the denial of a Messianic, Christian Jewish couple's application to hold a traditional Judaic wedding.

http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Politics-And-Diplomacy/Rabbinical-court-rules-against-Jewish-marriage-rites-for-Messianic-Jews-503839

the article above, from jpost ((one of the major Israeli news outlets)) makes it quite clear that, according to both the prevailing understanding of non-Christian Jews & to the couple's own statements, Christ is God. to say that He is the Messiah is to say exactly this, and that is, & has been, the core of the accusation by the Sanhedrin against anyone who believes.

i find that encouraging :)
even though we have many people under the broad banner of 'christianity' that deny the deity of Christ, Israel is not unaware of & does not deny the implication of accepting Jesus is the Messiah -- they simply deny that He is. in the modern church, somehow we find a way to say we accept Him, without accepting who He is, so it's nice to see that the issue is at least clear in Jerusalem. they reject the gospel, yes, but they don't muddle it.

silver lining?

My thoughts exactly! I followed both "likes" back to what seemed like the same profile. A glitch? I want that glitch, too! Where do I tick the right box?

I do agree it is heartening to know the Jews do understand who Jesus is - the Messiah, even if they still reject him! Now to convince people like my sister that Jesus was an actual person. In her new agey/humanist mind and thoughts, she directly told me Jesus never existed. Not real! Another way, to rationalize rejecting Christ! Sigh!

Quote from the article...

"A rabbinic court, or Sanhedrin, has ruled that a Jew who believes in Jesus as the Jewish Messiah is no longer considered a Jew for purposes of marriage in Israel."

That does not surprise me at all since to be jewish means to not recognize Christ as the son of God.... What DOES surprise me is that they actually recognized messianic-jewish marriages til now!

not sure why Christians so wholeheartedly support Israel's apostasy.
Not to mention the fact that they are illegally occupying Palestine. I'm told it's basically like African apartheid there
