I live in Kissimmee, Florida which is located in the central part of the state and this hurricane is looking pretty scary. I've lived here since I was 14 and have been through many storms but this is by far the scariest. Yesterday morning I had to drive to 4 different gas stations just to fill up my tank. The pharmacies were incredibly busy and backed up. I couldn't find water anywhere and oddly enough the stores were out of bread. This is the norm here when a big storm is coming. I stocked up on everything on Monday including water but I was looking for more because there is always someone who needs it. Please keep us in prayer. There are many believers who live here, including myself, that are praying for protection not only for fellow believers but for those that do not know Christ.

Water also seems to be an issue here in the panhandle.

We keep 25 empty gallon milk jugs in our disaster kit. About 24 hours before a storm we fill them. Also we also have a couple of water barrels (cleaned and sanitized plastic drums) that we fill, along with our bath tubs.

One of the many advantages of being a Christian is that I don't have to believe tosh about God punishing us. We no longer live in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Absolutely not. While I respect Hillary Clinton's career and as a person, and that former President Obama and his wife Michelle, represented the United States with dignity, even if I may have not agreed with everything in his term of office.
I believe that his dramatic, and courageous actions to lessen the sentences in America of "cruel and unusual punishment," that was causing the deaths of people, especially young people like Kalief Browders, the teenager who was driven insane through being tortured in solitary confinement. President Obama said that this kind of punishment was beneath the dignity of humanity. (sorry I don't have the quote in front of me, but will find it)
This is especially true of the New Millenium and of the younger Millenial kids, who are mostly, may not be hardened criminals, yet they are put in situations designed for hardened criminals, and many of them do not survive. The lawsuits are beginning regarding this shift in reform that has become a bi-partisan effort.
Don't consider that I'm not tough on crime. While I don't generally support the death penalty, I tend to agree with President Trump that if someone knowingly and willingly shoots at a law enforcement officer, especially if it is premeditated, they could face the death penalty. The possibility of error remains an issue.

I just don't agree with throwing minorities, vulnerable women, teenagers, graduate students, or Whitney Houston, and throwing away the key for people like the individual in a foreign country who tried to bribe a politician, and was subject to imprisonment, even though they had contributed to 80 percent of the GDP of that country.
No one is above the Law, but, justice reform is about balancing the issues to produce a workable solution that solves the problem and does not punish citizens, unduly, or permanently, arbitrarily, for offenses that sometimes evolve, like Marijuana laws.
But, I believe Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders were the ones that were leading us down the path of Sodom and Gommorah-
    Not Donald Trump-

I believe President Trump is actively addressing all issues that are presented before him in his office.
And his presidency reflects a needed shift to the Right.

We just had a discussion in the chat room about no one knows the path the hurricane will take, but someone quoted the song, "Turn, Turn, Turn," which reminded me of "Turnagain Pass" here in Alaska, and I felt it was a sign from God that the hurricane will turn in reference to Psalm 80 where it says three times to "turn again from our sins". But, it's not my position to predict where, unless it is revealed.
    I'm just believing that it will turn;
My hope and prayer is that it will turn out to sea...

Why is everyone always trying to judge this country? Many countries consider America to be a nation that is still a hope to many in the world--

I'm not trying to judge anyone. The solar eclipse crossed directly over the US, and that's supposed to be a bad omen of sorts according to superstition. The last time it happened was around the end of the civil war.... Plus I posted a couple weeks ago an article where 8 leading christian ministers said that they think this eclipse is biblically significant...'end times' signifcant.

It is God, not everyone, who controls the weather.

If you have no idea why America is hated around the world, you need to get out more. The fact that you have no idea is shocking in the extreme.

I have hoped and prayed for many years that God will destroy Babylon.

We have to be very careful when saying God is doing this or doing that, but I suspect we will see America completely cut down now by these natural events. God has many purposes, but I think he is reducing America to a state of economic and military weakness, so she can no longer rape the world financially, destroy the world environmentally, and think about completely destroying the world militarily.

As for American people, I think the door pretty much closed a while back on non-believers. I believe we are seeing judgement, and it will be catastrophic for people who have rejected God in favour of all those things they like.

But hey, I am just surmising.

I'll rephrase that. The door is very much open to non-believers, but I believe a process of judgement is underway, and many, like Pharoah, will harden rather than repent.

Many also will repent, but like at 9/11, the repentance will be shallow.

Anyway, we all need to be aware of our own salvation.

Try telling that to the millions of incarcerated Americans, enslaved by Mammon's penal money spinning machine.

And btw, God nowhere mandated incarceration.

Keep praying. Of course in the unlikely event it misses Florida it will then hit Texas or Louisiana. They have more recent experience and should be able to cope with it better.

I lived in Apopka for years which is about 10 miles NW of Orlando. I know Kissimmee very well. Currently I live in Clearwater which is next to Tampa and St. Petersburg. I figure that we will lose power between 3 - 5 pm tomorrow. Yeah, no bread or water here either. Fortunately my gas tank is full but I really have no where to go. It would be a nightmare just to try to stay with my family in Apopka and even there the hurricane is predicated to be a Cat 3. I have a radio but no batteries. Yeah, those went fast. I should have been more prepared but having lived in Florida for 24 years you can get a little lax about basic survival necessities as most hurricanes curve north before reaching Florida or head out over the gulf. I have enough toilet paper but flushing will be problematic if the water gets shut off.

Lifting everyone who is in the path of hurricane Irma up to the Lord in prayer.

As residents continue to evacuate Irma’s landfall this weekend, the founding meteorologist of AccuWeather says this "catastrophic weather event" in the U.S. is inevitable and described Irma as the "worst single hurricane to hit Florida since Hurricane Andrew in 1992."
