Yes... Hitler banned all of those things back in '35 or so...
You may not realize that this is one of the principle reasons for the 2nd Amendment. And it's worked pretty well for the past couple of hundred years.
What we need to fix is our background check system. There are literally millions of those semi-autos out there, that are never used in a crime. The problem is NOT the tool. We simply need to use common sense in how we run a background check for mentally unfit purchasers.....

On the news last night, they were listing all the reasons why he should not have been able to legally purchase a firearm.... guess what one of the reasons was? He was taking medication for ADHD....
If any of you truly want to protest something, how about we protest the blanket prescribing of these extremely dangerous drugs to young people who are still in their formative years?
As far as I've been able to find out, pretty much EVERY mass shooting in the past 15 years or so has involved someone taking these drugs. Seriously, what could possibly make a young person (children, in many cases) go off the deep end far enough to go bash their parents' heads in with a hammer, or find a gun and shoot a bunch of people? I do not think that our kids are simply becoming more insane over the generations. There has to be a causal effect...
THIS is the "smoking gun" (no pun intended) for all of these inexplicable tragedies... we should demand the withdrawl of these drugs from the market.
Or, borrow a page from the gun-grabbers playbook, and make the doctors that so freely prescribe these mind-altering drugs to adolescents financially and civilly liable for the damage that their patients do.
If we can hold a bartender liable for serving too many drinks to someone that kills someone while driving drunk, shouldn't we hold doctors to at least the same standard?

I would realize that if it were true. Most Germans were not allowed to own guns at the time and Hitler actually loosened gun laws when he came to power, at least for non-Jews and people sympathetic to the Nazi party.

Regardless I'm not actually against private gun ownership, I'm just against easy access to weapons that can mow down crowds. Canada has pretty tight gun control but no one who wants a weapon is prohibited from getting one provided they pass some checks such as criminal history, mental health etc... You also cannot own military grade weapons or weapons that can easily be converted to such.

There are millions of people who take ADHD medications who benefit greatly from them. I wouldn't blame the violence in our country on them.
The problem is not the medications, it is the lack of properly educated professionals available to properly prescribe them. There are too many doctors that have absolutely no business prescribing them, doing so. IMHO, based on personal experience with my oldest son, fewer than one in ten professionals do the mental health treatment required by those taking ADHD medications. My heart goes out to everyone who need these medications and are prescribed some form of them, but have no one available to do the concurrent care required.
Don't ban the use, ban the unqualified prescription of them.
