Default Unmade bed worth £2.5 million

Turner prize called the unmade bed, sells for £2.5 million.

They could have had mine for half that.

    Gross!

If it was actually a sculpture made of clay or something that would be impressive. But its her actual bed that she slept on (and engaged in other unmentionable acts on).... I hope it stinks up the home of the rich and tasteless person who purchased it.

There is a saying in Yorkshire:

    ”Where there’s muck, there’s brass.”

A reference to the industrial revolution and hard graft.

I’m sure whoever coined that phrase had no idea it applied to used beds!

I'm working on a do it yourself kit so the whole family can participate. Very reasonable price if you go for the quantity rate.

Im thinking your thinking of 4 or 5 beds for the same price of £2.5 million. A bargain
    at the price.

mind you, it's still better that this piece of trash the Canadian gov bought with Cdn taxpayer money:

Well at least that took some effort with a brush and a canvas.... but yea, $1.8 mil is outrageous! It should at least be an image of something other than 3 lines of color... If I had turned that in as an assignment in art school I would have gotten an F.... or maybe a D for effort

We have a long and storied family history of messy beds. Goes back many generations.

There will be no more messy beds in the eternal kingdom. No night, no fatigue just endless praise for the Savior.

Of course we aso have the chap who preserved a sheep and called it art.
I call it a waste of lamb chops!

He called it away from the flock.

There's just no accounting for the public's taste. Oy vey....

I think even a child would have more sense to know that unmade bed is just ridiculous.

Mama said she wants a new bed. Our old bed ought to be worth at least $500k. We'll even make it up before you pick it up.

On a day like today, my hair kinda matches the bed.

Maybe I can sell it as an accessory.

So just out of curiosity, I Googled "ridiculous paintings worth millions" and was subjected to numerous examples of, well... ridiculous looking art which sold for a whole lotta loot. I did see one that caught my eye because of its intriguing lines. It is a painting by Lucio Fontana that sold for $1.5 million. I’m not sure if Lucio actually painted the lines onto the canvas, or literally cut the lines into it. That was the only thing that interested me about the painting. I'd never buy that monstrosity.

That actually captures my attention and I think it's very original... I'd be more than happy to have that hanging in my home. I really like it. It gives me a strange but very cool feeling..

Would you pay $1.5 million for it?

Evidently, Lucio Fontana did a series of them.

I actually looked up other works by him just now and nothing interested me like that red one, not even other red ones like that. Something about the composition of that red one is very interesting to me. If I was a millionaire I might pay that ridiculous sum only because its very rare that I see a piece of art that actually gives me a 'cool' feeling when I look at it... its like I want to just keep staring at it...

(that white one just looks like sliced paper to me)

I've heard it said that you should only buy a piece of art that you feel you just can't walk away from. When I bought and sold art, there were a few things I found that I couldn't part with. One was a beautiful painting of a young woman looking out to sea who looked exactly like my daughter. Another was a series of pen and ink drawings of ships at sea by a local artist.

I didn’t see a temple in the city because the Lord God All-Mighty and the Lamb are its Temple. The city didn’t have need for the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the Glory of God gave it light; the Lamb is the Light.
