We had a huge 8.2 quake here two hours ago, near Kodiak Island 12:31 AM.

The quake has so far triggered 32 foot waves and there is a tsunami warning in effect for the coast of Alaska and Canada. The quake woke me up and I was thinking, "not a big one," and heard in my mind/in the spirit: "judgment day is coming!"
Then found out it was an 8.2. It didn't shake as much as the 7.1 quake in 2016 since that one was closer.

Some unusual earthquake Christian connections:

 • March 27th, 1964: 9.2 Mw "Good Friday" Alaska quake
 • November 14th, 2016: 7. 8 Mw quake near Christchurch, New Zealand
 • January 24th, 2016: 7.1 quake near Anchorage, Alaska
 • January 23rd, 2018: 8.2 quake near Kodiak, Alaska

The 7.1 quake here in 2016 on January 24th, centered near Iliamna volcano, occurred about one week after Martin Luther King Jr. day here in America, a civil rights leader in the 1960's, and was of the same type--a "slip-strike" quake--as the 9.2 "Good Friday" quake (frightening childhood experience). One day later, January 25th, 2016 former President Barack Obama announced a justice reform on solitary confinement, in prisons for juveniles, low-offenders and mental afflictions, having broad bi-partisan support.
Just before this, November 14th, 2016 there was the 7.8 quake near Christchurch, New Zealand. The song: "Chainbreaker," reached the top of Christian charts five days later on November 19th, 2016.

The 7.1 quake was revealed to me before it happened in a dream with an image of a large button suspended over a volcanic range. I was angry about heinous prison deaths here in alaska and criminal negligence, as well as the death of Sandra Bland in Texas, who died after three days in solitary confinement for a traffic violation, and I asked God to "press the button," pretty much, as a warning of end-times and God's will for justice reform and public outrage over abuses and deaths of addicts and mentally afflicted, including the slow torturous death of Davon Mosely . Sandra Bland said in January of 2015 after watching a movie (Selma) about the civil rights movement in America and Martin Luther King Jr. that, "I'm here to change history," and "It's time for me to do God's work."

"I'm here to change history."
"It's time for me to do God's work."
--Sandra Bland

devon-mosley.jpg
Davon Mosely: slowly tortured to death in solitary confinement

Zach Williams (Chainbreaker) said:"If you don't know what you're doing with your life then find a quiet place, fall down on your hands and knees, and ask God to come in and save your life," said Williams. "Surrender everything to Him. Jesus came and died on the cross so there would be a way for the chains of those struggles and addictions to be broken." Zach Williams

Former President Barack Obama on justice reform, citing broad bi-partisan support:

"...banned the practice of holding juveniles in solitary confinement in federal prisons, saying it could lead to "devastating, lasting psychological consequences."
Mr. Obama said federal prisons would no longer use solitary confinement for juveniles or for inmates serving time for low-level infractions.
"Research suggests that solitary confinement has the potential to lead to devastating, lasting psychological consequences," Mr. Obama wrote. "It has been linked to depression, alienation, withdrawal, a reduced ability to interact with others and the potential for violent behavior. Some studies indicate that it can worsen existing mental illnesses and even trigger new ones."
(New York Times, Jan. 25, 2016)

"I have been sent to announce freedom to all who are imprisoned upon the earth..."
--Jesus of Nazareth

This refers to all who are wrongly, injustly, or excessively imprisoned, or those for the Gospel, and also refers to all the earth who are captives to spiritual imprisonment and death, announcing freedom in Christ and salvation to all people of the earth, announcing God's free-pardon of divine atonement of sins in Christ and eternal life.
“The Lord’s Spirit has come to me, because he has chosen me to tell the good news to the poor. The Lord has sent me to announce freedom for prisoners, to give sight to the blind, to free everyone who suffers" (Luke 4:18; CEV)

I fail to see how any of these events are even remotely connected to each other or hold any biblical implications whatsoever.

The warning has been downgraded. Although there was a 32 wave reported near the epicenter, and it had the potential for severe tsunami's, the threat has not materialized with this event, which is great news!

The above pictures are from the 1964 quake. Earthquakes, such as this one, have been reported in the Bible with biblical events such as "Good Friday," which remembers the suffering of Jesus, and also His Resurrection. They symbolize God's power.

The power of life, even the birth of one child, is far greater than power created by human beings.
It is said that when Jesus returns, His one command will raise, by one estimate, 100 billion or so people from the dead, either for judgment and separation from God's light, or eternal life in Heaven.

But, the power of one earthquake, such as the 9.0 in Japan a few years ago, and the 9.2 quake in Alaska in 1964, released roughly 1,000,000 kilotons of power. A bomb dropped in WWII in Japan was about 32 kilotons. A 9.0 quake is roughly 30,000 times more powerful than that--one WWII bomb. One megaton is equal to roughly 1,000 kilotons which is 4.184 x 10/15th power joules. 4.184 x 10/15th power joules x 1000 = the power of a 9.0 earthquake in joules.

So, you can see that God's power is far greater than man's power. I believe this is what God was trying to convey to me in the prophetic symbolic dream imagery of the huge button suspended over a volcanic range, which shortly thereafter released 1.995262e +15 joules, or 4.768791e + 5tons x 1,000 kilotons, or somewhere less than the 1,000,000 kilotons of a 9.0 quake.

If anyone has some better math, go for it--

The 9.2 Good Friday quake of 1964 lasted almost 5 minutes of a deafening roar like a 747 engine was in the next room, and you couldn't even stand up or walk. It produced tsunami's of up to 220 feet high. turnagain hts.jpg earthquake-alaska-pic.jpg Jesus-White-Horse-Armies-of-Heaven-Armageddon.jpg

There was also an earthquake recently north of Whitehorse, Canada

It is the power of God...... Christchurch.... earthquakes ....tsunamis...but cannot provide tangible explanation....
Eye has not seen,
ear has not heard
what God has ready
for those who love him;
Spirit of love, come,
give us the mind of Jesus,
teach us the wisdom of God.

I kept seeing tsunami warnings for BC every time I would open a new tab, which was quite often and almost all night long, because I am gung ho on a project I have stared, and got less than two hours sleep last night, and am now going to work

The lower mainland is kind of sort of maybe partially protected by Vancouver Island, though we joke about how Richmond and Sea Island (that is where the Vancouver National Airport is) would be sunk in such a scenario, because they are as flat as pancakes :p

We Virginians joke about Richmond sinking, but for completely different reasons. :p

By the way, Desdi, welcome back! It is nice to see you again :)

you do BEAUTIFUL work!! would you be willing to do some christian art/graphics for some ministry outreach? and how much do you do such work for-- afraid to ask since you are in the big leagues with your graphics!

I'm glad the tsunami warning did not materialize-- they were VERY serious at first with a 32 foot displacement of ocean water, and a quake that large in the ocean can create a huge tsunami--
it didn't shake much here though; the 7.1 was VERY upsetting to many people here--
I think the poor lady's reply in the video sums it up perfectly (the 7.1 2016 quake):

"holy freeking cow!!!"

Justice reform shakedown of state prison empire begins with HB 91 (House Bill 91) and a 7.1 quake:

House bill HB 91 was partly a response, I believe to the abuses of native peoples in Alaska, and budget shortfalls. While it needs some adjusting to address the opioid epidemic, it is a step in the right direction from the past archaic hopelessness of a system designed not to reform, but to annihilate citizens' humanity, even low-offenders, and permanently prevent them from re-entering society, often leaving them mentally "institutionalized and welfare dependent," with emotional and psychological disabilities and PTSD, if they survive. Justice reform has been increasingly supported by powerful b-partisan support and new police precinct policies across America towards drug addiction and mental health confinement.

Without transitionary programs, first offenders and those with mental afflictions, often end up insane or dead like Sandra Bland of Texas and Devon Moseley in Alaska, due to "institutional shock," and others, both native and non-native, who have died begging for medical help.

Warrior up! Native people's action

Support SB 91 for criminal justice reform.

The Commission found that a disproportionate number of Alaska Natives are being confined. While Alaska Natives represent 15 percent of the state resident population, they represent 36 percent of the state’s pretrial inmates, 34 percent of the state’s sentenced prisoners, and 42 percent of the probation and parole violators in prison.
A disproportionately high number of Alaska Natives are imprisoned or on probation. SB 91 is a comprehensive bill to reform criminal justice in Alaska. It would adjust sentences and other aspects of the justice system to promote justice while reducing prison and probation numbers
(from nativefederatiion.org; Feb 11, 2016)

Don't worry, our native brothers and sisters of Alaska--
Can't stop a tsunami--
Can't stop anything approved by divine power--
Think 1,000,000 kilotons here...

It would not be safe to cancel warnings regarding this quake for a lot of frightening reasons. In searching the internet, I discovered a story in Newsweek (Newsweek.com; Aug. 1st, 2017) that warns of a very large earthquake and tsunami similar to the horrifying event in Japan in March of 2017 that caused the nuclear meltdown of a power plant and tragically many thousands lost their lives.
According to this article in Newsweek, the massive 9.1 Mw quake and tsunami in 2011 there was a magnitude 9 megathrust quake, which is as horrifying as it sounds. There is a similar geologic structure in the Gulf of Alaska where yesterday's quake occurred involving plate tectonics. What geologists were not aware of with the Japan quake was that the danger of a tectonic shift was not over just because there were smaller quakes that should have released the pressure on the plates, and also they found a layer of clay which may have allowed the plates to shift further. What they found was that a smaller quake had dislodged a portion of the plate.

"What scientists failed to realize was that part of the edge of the continental plate had become detached—and that this posed a major risk. A smaller earthquake dislodged the detached section, creating the huge earthquake and tsunami that followed. While scientists knew this fault existed, they did not understand the devastation it could cause." (Newsweek.com; Aug. 1, 2017

tohuku tsunami.jpg

There is a similar structure in the area of the Shumagin Gap of the North Atlantic in the area where the quake just occurred today (Jan. 23, 2017) southwest of Kodiak Island. My concern is that the quake today, which I just discovered was a horizontal shift of the plates and not a vertical subduction of plates or other type of shift, might have caused a similar dislodging of a section of the plate (what the sea floor sits on deep in the earth). I'm willing to bet they are checking into it right now.

So, the bottom-line is that the danger may not be over, but increased by the horizontal shifting of the earth-plates, which could trigger a major quake and tsunami similar to Japan in 2011.

"In their study, researchers found a region of the Shumagin Gap that is detached in the same way. The fault they identified stretches about 90 miles roughly parallel to the land and extends over 20 miles down. The maps suggest the seafloor has dropped to one side and risen on the other. Researchers also found a cluster of seismic activity near where the new fault meets the plate boundary, indicating it is active." Thank you Herald :) I work in a photo lab; graphics of one form or another have long been a passion for me :D I have been at my present job for 36 years this coming summer; it is my third job in the industry since I began on my 21st birthday forty two years ago next month. I was moved into the growing digital department about fifteen years ago, as the rest of the industry began a long, slow decline after the sharp fall-off at the outset of photographic computerization.

Any who, these graphics I make are not something I do professionally, but just for the love of God and His eternal Word :)

I just started doing them this month :) I want to do an "I AM" series :) In preparation for that, I have made multiple templates using various backgrounds, while searching out other elements to add to the graphic, such as butterflies and subtle viney things, flowers, scrolls, etc, to go around the Scriptures, which are the main focus.

I just made this one for you :D

If you would like me to make something for you, what do you have in mind? I would not charge you for it. Today at work I printed some of the images I have done already; some are only just under 400kb, yet they printed out just fine on photographic paper @ 5" x 5" (most of the images I work in starting at 800 x 800 ppi, and then size down to 540 x 540 to post on the boards, so any that I had as a larger size were between 700-800 kbs :D)

Just an update: I'm not trying to be an alarmist, except that the situation there, discovered this fall, is potentially very serious. there is a short video on the weather channel, I'll try to post when i get more internet time that describes it very clearly. And I don't think earthquakes and tsunami's happen to judge people. An earthquake heralded both the Cross and resurrection, and they are mentioned all through the Bible implying that God can control earthquakes, or delay them, etc...

I made an error in the report: the Jan 23rd quake was southeast of the Shumagin Gap where the danger area is sais to be, although a university website here downplayed the danger a bit, as they are just researching it. But there appears to be a simiilar structure to the horrifying Japan quake in 2016 or 2017? at a magnitude 9. The quake the other day was 90 km or so south of the plate shift that caused the 1964 quake, and occurred in an area that is not part of the plate "subduction" or where the earth plates (under the sea floor like dish plates) where the 1964 quake apparently was centered. It just shows that areas where there appears to be a release of energy, can not be considered safe which this latest discovery after Japan showed. I hope I can find the video, but it describes the pieces of broken off plates as like a door hinge which can create massive tsunami's like in Japan because of the vertical shift of water near the sea floor.

It appears to be potentially VERY serious, and calls for immediate safety measures throughout the Pacific Rim.

Couldn't get the one-minute video, but got the link to the video

No one said a quake in the hazardous area would cause the end of the world, only to prepare for the possiblity of a major tsunami due to the discovery of a potentially catastrophic geologic structure in one of the most active areas of the world. This is not rocket science--just simple preparedness which is also a way of life that is pleasing to God in the Bible, and one that would also help prepare people for the return of Christ, an event that many Christians believe is near. But some people believe it will not be the end of the world, but a new beginning-- without those who perpetrate violence since they will no longer be allowed to do so.

So, your mockery is not fitting for biblical warnings, and goes against the Bible.
If I knew of a potentially catastrophic situation, such as the geologic instability, and didn't say anything, then I would be accountable.

And good stewardship would apply in all situations, not panic. For Christians who live the Gospel and know the Gospel, also know that there is never any reason for desperation for God's people if we learn to trust in Jesus in all situations, every crisis and turmoil within ourselves, around us, or on a larger scale.

This is the tsunami warningn buoy that caused the severe warning--buoy 46410
alaska buoy 46410.jpg

As described above, consider the warning still in effect due to a recent discovery of tectonic structures similar to the Japan 9.0 quake some 7 years ago, where a detached portion of the sea-floor plate acted like a door-hinge displacing catastrophic amounts of sea water due to vertical lifting. The area in the North Pacific still has not shifted, and it should be considered imminent.
