funny how in BDF, we rail about context and getting the whole picture, because we know full well that when you have an agenda, and when you have bias, you can easily selectively edit quotes and leave out swathes of other important information to create a narrative that seems to say something almost completely opposite of the truth.
but here, while the news is full of what amounts to a list of Republican talking points from a committee sharply divided along party lines, a committee that since it was formed has been operating under the foregone conclusion that both sides have the singular purpose of perverting information in order to present a biased, politically motivated, pre-determined conclusion, are being 'declassified' with great fanfare, from all reports leaving out a great deal of very relevant information, purposefully, selectively edited to push a particular narrative that may or may not represent reality ((and probably doesn't, given the history of the source)) --- we throw contextual criticism out the window and say "aha!"
that's both interesting behavior and very sad behavior.
