Dear Father in Heaven, pour out Your love, mercy and comfort on the families and friends of the victims of the Florida high school shooting. Bring Your healing and peace to the hearts and minds of all the survivors.

Dear Father, lead us. Show us how to pick up the pieces and continue loving and living after such a horrible evil event. Help us not to hate or live in fear.

May Your Holy Spirit overshadow and lead the leadership of the State of Florida and all the school faculty and students through this great loss.

We continue to trust in You and love You with all our hearts. Help us, Father, in the Name of Jesus, amen.

I don't want to sound like I'm some left wing liberal but it's true. Thoughts and prayers are nice, but action also has to be done. A 16 year old victim was interviewed and that is what she says, action is whats going to change what's happening. We can pray for the families and victims but change needs to happen.

Maybe the action that is needed is for Christians to take back their
nation from the ungodly.
But I fear it is way too late for that.
Christians should concentrate on preaching the gospel and
saving individuals.
For no one now can save this world. It is doomed to a terrible fate
clearly described in the scriptures.
Jesus said there would be a time of sorrows and surely we have entered
in to a time of despair and pain.
And I fear it will only get worse and worse.
UnGodliness has consequences.

But we cannot just worry about our own salvation for we are commanded to
preach the gospel and to be ambassadors to Christ Jesus at all times.

Worldly people are blind to the truth, held captive by the Adversary, and
they need us and the gospel to open their eyes to the way of faith and hope
in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour God.

most cry and weep, but eventually they sweep it all under the rug...until the next time...
hearts are becoming hardened to this fallen-world's ways and so they forfeit their say
and actions in what is to come...

Yes, everyone is saying right now that we need to take action (i.e gun control or banning guns altogether). I'm not really educated enough on the ease by which an adult can legally acquire guns and ammo (which I'm sure varies by state), but the huge point that people miss and that no one dares to suggest is that we have failed our children from the moment we were afraid to say Jesus' name and point to the Word as the foundation for raising them.

Plain and simple. The carnage will continue otherwise.

Well people, I think families should police their own ranks for a person that becomes mentally unstable. That would still leave a person without family for whatever reason to be dealt with. If our society were more community based, we could have an oversight committee for that. With that lacking, it is up to the mental health practitioners to follow through when someone becomes unstable. They should work with the local law enforcement agencies. We have some of that now, but it needs more participation from mental health doctors. My thoughts, anyway.

Hello Deade, I think that's a great idea for the mental health facilities to work with law enforcement. Kind of a form of "Homeland Security."
