Blackhawks fans chant "Basketball, Basketball, Basketball" at bkack hockey player

I found this story on Fox News page on Facebook and 95% of the comments were "how's they that racist" or others trying to justify this saying the dude is soft. I'm sorry but if you can't find how this is racist then I can't help you. If you don't know basketball is historically is viewed as an African American sport, well nowadays. Basically this is implying he's in thr wrong sport because of his skin color. Can racism please stop in this country? And I don't know why many of these people can't grasp how wrong this is.

There's always been rampant racism in this country. I know because I had to deal with it while growing up. The only difference is that now its in the news.

Thankfully, the trouble makers were ejected from the game thereby averting more trouble. America is great because of its diversity. Hopefully some day people like those troubling fans will awaken to that truth.

Re: Blackhawks fans chant "Basketball, Basketball, Basketball" at bkack hockey player

Growing up my kids played with 2 black hockey players, who were both superb players. Soft hands and able to put the puck in the net.

I just find this kind of racism horrible. Not every black person is tall enough to play pro basketball. In Canada, we have black people who choose hockey, because that is our sport. And Chinese, East Indian, Jewish, German, send every other language, skin colour and race, also choose hockey.

When I taught school, the immigrant children would play hockey, too! It was a sign of being Canadian.

Blackhawk fans should know better!

Sure enough, Devante Smith Pelly is Canadian. He UN says it feels terribly lonely to be a black hockey player when things like this happen. He has no one to talk to, because the other players wouldn’t understand.

Probably he should talk them. He might be surprised by how much they care, even if they don’t totally understand, having never experienced it!

Earth is in an absurd meltdown mode, too many are afraid to talk or say anything for fear of not being politically correct, or being labelled a racist.

It's plain stupid how many there are today who are offended because a person may mention something about their culture that is factual. Political correctness/leftist/antichrist ideology is at work and is accomplishing its objective; making victims, causing offense, taking rights of others because another is offended, causing ethnic division, forcing immoral practices and beliefs on others.

Today being white automatically means you're a racist and we've personally taken note that there is much disdain in attitude of younger generations towards us personally in public.

Then he said to them, “Ethnos(race) will rise against ethnos,(race)... Luke 21:10.

It's not right. But I think the best thing blacks, Mexicans, or whichever minority we are talking about is to let it go. I'm Mexican American and there have been things said about me. I've noticed that when I show that it hurts or bothers me, they continue to tease me about it. But if I act like I don't care...they forget it and move on.

For any minorities on here...don't let them tear you down. Don't care what other people think of you because sometimes they do it just for fun. When they see it doesn't bother you, they don't find it fun anymore.

Remember: Hurt people hurt people. Healed people heal people. People who are racists are hurting inside and I'm not going to let their hurt brush off onto me. I hope more people start doing this.

^ Very nice words. The best thing for everyone to remember is that "there is neither Greek nor Jew ... For you are all one in Jesus." Galatians 3:28

I agree with everything except that last part.... The ones who bullied me were just spoiled mean kids. That concept of bullies being victims themselves is something that I think hollywood came up with.

Some of the kids who bulled me were the star players on the football team! They were popular, good-looking, had plenty of friends, liked to party, had pretty girlfriends, etc... Yet one of them pulled a knife on me and on another occassion tried to crush my adam's apple with his bare hands. I really wish people would not paint bullies as victims. Nothing could be further from the truth as far as I'm concerned...

Since I'm talking about it... they also bullied one of my friends because he belonged to this nerdy school group sort of like a chess team... After gym class they put his t-shirt in the toilet and knocked his glasses off his face just for fun! They had a good laugh over it!

Same with me, all the bullies in my school were popular kids who were saints to teachers. Some having rough backgrounds may be true for some but in generall some are just a-holes.

No, being an ignorant racist now automatically makes someone a racist.

I was talking about racists though...not bullies. That's a whole other ball game.
