I saw a recording of him preaching once and he said the most important advice he could give young people was to stop looking for answers to their problems from other young christians. He said when he was a young chirstian all the young christians he knew would go to each other for advice but he would go off alone somewhere with his bible and pray and seek the answer from the word of God. He said that is what they should do. He was a great preacher indeed..

I never realized how widespread his influence reached until I met a man on a very remote island village who was a huge Billy Graham fan and wanted me to send him some of Billy Graham's books when I returned to the US.

One night in the village, I was awoken by the sound of a choir - he was watching a Billy Graham program on the only TV in town... :) I couldn't help but be amazed at how God works and used a willing servant in such powerful ways.

Unfortunately I've heard more slander about Billy than I have heard of him. In my spirit I feel he is a genuine man of God. I should listen to his stuff.

I helped with ushering and follow up at the Billy Graham Crusade in Vancouver in 1984. So many people came to see a famous person, and left having met Jesus. So glad I was able to be there for many days and hear him preach and pray with people.

Statement by Evangelist Billy Graham On the Death of Pope John Paul II

“Pope John Paul II was unquestionably the most influential voice for morality and peace in the world during the last 100 years. His extraordinary gifts, his strong Catholic faith, and his experience of human tyranny and suffering in his native Poland all shaped him, and yet he was respected by men and women from every conceivable background across the world. He was truly one of those rare individuals whose legacy will endure long after he has gone.
“It was my privilege to meet with him at the Vatican on various occasions, and I will always remember his personal warmth to me and his deep interest in our ministry. In his own way, he saw himself as an evangelist, traveling far more than any other Pope to rally the faithful and call non-believers to commitment.

I guess Graham forgot what was in the Gospel , if anyone preach a different Christ. Pope John Paul II Vatican II ecumenism / Co Exist Oct 27,1986 till his passing away in 2005, is not of God the Father & our Lord Jesus Christ.

Why was Billy Graham giving praise ,honor to false teachers / Religious Leaders that preach another Gospel ??? There is much more that could be included on this post , But the question remains . Did he repent of these things Only God knows.

This is a good reminder to keep in mind to trust only God , and not religious leaders or teachers.

Paul warn us all in Galatians 1:8 , inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Shalom

I liked him more than his son personally. I am happy I got to see him live once in my life over 10 years ago. One of the few legit pure Christian preachers are gone.
And we will see him again more alive than ever.

I have nothing against Rev Graham but I want to see the One who wore a crown of thorns.

And we will see him again more alive than ever.
Rev Graham will stand before the judgment seat of Christ the same as each one of us. Each will give our own account and not the account of another.

Rev Graham was by all accounts honest in his finances unlike many of his modern contemporaries. His preaching is another matter as he was often criticized for the way he watered down the gospel and associated with apostates in the ministry.

It is reasonably certain the Rev Graham knew the Lord Jesus as Savior for which we can all give glory to God. Let God judge Rev Graham for I am certainly not qualified to judge nor do I endeavor to do so. My only caution would be not to laud him above that which is reasonable. Rev Graham was humble so to elevate him in praise for his ministry is to go against what he sought in life.

Romans 10:15b How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings! How welcome is the coming of those who preach the good news of His good things!

Why is it bigotry to present the truth? There is no question that Billy Graham compromised the truth and cooperated with the Roman Catholics and Protestant apostates. Even after others pleaded with him to avoid such associations. It is all fully documented. It is a great shame that he failed to maintain strict separation form the apostate Catholic Church and even praised John Paul II.

I think that Jesus got criticized by associating with apostates also. Goes with the territory I suppose. You are right in saying that Billy Graham was humble and I'm sure that he would rather have God praised than himself.

I agree. There are those that forget that in their rush to judgement.

Yes., many here on cc have their running shoes on in that area! It's revolting. Billy Graham was a man of God and left a wonderful family legacy as well as brought many souls to Christ. The world was made a better place for his time here.
