Window dressing. Not a single thing in the bill that would have prevented the school shooting.

This^. I would add that the ONLY thing in the bill that could have prevented the school shooting would be the armament of teachers. Good job on that, Rick. Crappy job on the rest.

Sad Sad Sad. its time to take a look at the second amendment and amend it. I would not want my child going into a school that is more like a army barracks.

An army barracks is an order of magnitude improvement over many schools in the US.

I don't know why you would put effort into ridding us of a weapon that is never used in a crime.

The Second Amendment was placed there to prevent a tyranny from taking over America. What no one has even considered is to place an armed surveillance drone over every school and let the evil doers know that they will be severely hurt (maybe even extinguished) if they come to hurt students and teachers.

Easy there, I am a life member of the NRA. I don't need a gun. But if I wanted one, that is my option. BTW no automatic weapons are allowed among the general public since 1934. What is a mocho man: chocolate?

wrong, wrong, wrong.

There is nothing wrong with the 2nd Amendment.... unless you are in favor of an oppressive, totalitarian government.

I'm assuming that you are ok with your child going to a sporting event where there are armed guards..
Or, to a museum, where there are armed guards...
Or, to a bank, where there are armed guards....

Or, perhaps not. Perhaps you should just ban your children from anyplace where there are armed guards. Oh, wait... then they couldn't serve on a jury. Or go buy their car tags..

Yeah, unfortunately the bad people don't care about gun laws and the mentally ill don't know better. Right now I'm trending towards a arm held personal rocket launcher.
