If it were not for the few good people still in the state, I'd probably pray for the magnitude 9 earthquake to hit the San Andreas.... start over with a new coastline, and a new bunch of Californians.

If I could only figure out how to tie Austin to it....

Important note that this is about products and paid services. I'll be interested to see how they handle the Bibles as a result, or if CA has inadvertently made them illegal for sale. I hope Christians don't succumb to alarmism though, because this could easily snowball up to the supreme court if (when) someone overreacts.

I think this will be a stepping stone to state-sponsored "Christianity" as happened with Rome and China.

I am never surprised why California has heavy traffics, large amount of homeless people and criminals because it abandoned the Christian values that the US founding fathers fought and died for.

I hope that the US will not be like Russia where it needs to experience collapse first before embracing again the Christian values. I hope Christian values have a chance to be restored in the States.

Sad to say, Russia today is becoming more Christian than the US.

Mmmm. That's hard to say. There is the real Russia and what the Russian government says about Russia. Then we have to consider the brand of Christianity out that way- they still get the Gospel, but it's somewhat stymied by a lot of peculiar folk beliefs and superstitions that have never quite left the Slavic world even in the midst of Communist-imposed Atheism.

In fact, I'd wager paganism grew like a weed under those circumstances though I do not have the data to back up my hypothesis. That's just typically how it shakes out here in the West.

“Every person experiencing unwanted same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria must be allowed to pursue help in achieving their desired goals and outcomes.”

Very interesting bit of criticism there. It appeals to the worldview of those who passed the Bill, but I wonder if it isn't some sort of unneeded surrender of perspective.

They're going to call him bigoted for such a statement anyhow. May as well oppose it with a little more fire, IMO

This is a very misleading article. There’s already a bill that was passed in 2012 preventing professionals from performing gay conversion therapy to children under 18. All the current bill does is enhances it to patients of all ages. Please read the bill before posting misleading articles.

Conversion therapy

Conversion therapy is the pseudoscientific practice of trying to change an individual's sexual orientation from homosexual or bisexual to heterosexual using psychological or spiritual interventions. There is virtually no reliable evidence that sexual orientation can be changed and medical bodies warn that conversion therapy practices are ineffective and potentially seriously harmful. Nevertheless, advocates and proponents do provide anecdotal reports of so-called "ex-gays" who claim some degree of success in becoming heterosexual. Medical, scientific, and government organizations in the United States and United Kingdom have expressed concern over conversion therapy and consider it potentially harmful. Various legal jurisdictions in Asia, Europe, and the Americas have passed laws against conversion therapy.

The bill was authored in the state assembly by Evan Low, an openly gay lawmaker and member of the California Legislative LGBT Caucus. It aims to prohibit “sexual orientation change efforts” (SOCE) or “gay conversion therapy” on minors. Furthermore, it extends from a 2012 law that banned mental health professionals from providing gay conversion therapy for anyone below the age of 18.
Per A.B. 2943, “lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender is part of the natural spectrum of human identity and is not a disease, disorder, or illness.”

I had a read up on some further information about this, and the way I have interpreted this, is that adults will be forbidden to get professional help if he/she has sexual desires of the same sex that they don't want, or if such a person is confused about their gender is this what this is about?

So if I understand correctly, regardless of the age of the person concerned, it is alright to brainwash and convert people with this gender choosing identity garbage but at the same time, it is not alright to counsel the person concerned to get them on the straight path. Is this what this is all about?

The world cannot keep on going like this. There needs to be intervention. It is getting out of control.
