Military vs social expenditures

I wonder, why so many economic migrants head to the EU (irony).

I wonder, if many people in the US army are there because its some kind of social help net suplementing a real social system in the country?

What would it cost the EU to provide it's actual security?

It is time for the US to leave the protection of Europe and instead let Europe fund for their defense and weapons' upgrade.

The USSR and Warsaw Pact is no more and the combined and well modernized EU forces will deter Russia enough if it becomes aggressive again.

Oh I forgot Russia will not become aggressive if the US will not destabilize a pro Russian regime near her borders.

The American government must instead fund to rebuild the dilapidated infrastructures, enhance the education quality, health care etc. anything that will bring something very beneficial to the American people.
