If you have firearms in your home and you do not secure them and you don't secure them in a manner that can preclude someone from grabbing them and taking them and carrying out this carnage, there is a criminal liability that attaches.

I believe that anyone that owns a firearm that doesn't secure it properly and it ends up in the wrong hands and used to kill innocent people, that that should carry some significant consequences. We need to think about that on the national level across this country.
I actually agree with this one. But that's not fun control, it's idiot control.

To your first paragraph: There is no criminal liability attached cause someone accessed the firearms of another without authority. Not where I live anyways. Where did your receive you Juris Doctorate from?

To your second paragraph: I don't believe you understand the scope and authority of the United States Congress.
There could be a law that a gun has to be kept in a small safe with an access code to get to it. I mean, her point here wasn t without merit.

Thanks for the name calling.

But don't you DARE tell me what my motives are. You don't know me and I don't know you. I have three nephews (age 7 and 1 and a third on the way). I have a 3 year old niece. I want people to finally come together and do something because what we're doing clearly is NOT working.
Boy oh boy! How is not possible to see your own hypocrisy! You have done NOTHING but castigate the motives and the people who believe in the second amendment of our Constitution?

And name calling? Again, how in your mind do you justify your hypocrisy? You started very early labeling Americans "gun-worshipers" and it only went downhill from there?!

The hypocrisy extends to your screen name. You clearly don't know history or you would know that the 1st thing dictators and despots do is disarm their citizenry!

Christians are already aware of the evil in the world, which is one reason they were converted, because they themselves are evil and wicked in their hearts.

Take away guns, and others who are evil and wicked in their hearts will find other methods to murder others. It's not the guns, it is the result of fallen man.

And by the way, prayer is still valid, powerful, necessary and efficacious. Others can mock it, mitigate it and ridicule it but the fact remains that these types of murders will continue because our nation is in defiance of God and his ways.

We will pray for the families of the victims, national revival, a turning to God. The ultimate needful thing is for many to repent and believe the Gospel, our nation is in dire need of God and his mercy.
well said sir

History Princess, serotonin reuptake inhibitors like Prozac cause thoughts of suicide and violence against others in some people.

Your view that only those with military training should be allowed to have guns, do you mean current military service members?
Because the anti-gun government wants to take weapons away from military veterans if they are deemed to have PTSD or if they are deemed incompetent (defined as having their utility bills paid by automatic deposit).

In Parkland, Florida, the FBI ran active shooter drills. The alleged shooter (Cruz) bragged about being a professional shooter. The authorities would not arrest him because of his Hispanic last name. He was adopted. Cruz walked out of the school with a female classmate who said she hurt shoots being fired as they left the school.
Cruz entered the school, 3 minutes later, he was dressed in full tactical gear with his AR-15 assembled, all of which were stored in his backpack.
Students on the 3rd? floor said they ran from a shooter coming up one set of stairs and were chased back by a shooter coming up the other set of stairs.
Student named Hogg heard about the shooting when he was a home, got on his bike, traveled to school, entered a room where students were hiding and recorded a live interview with other students.

Does any of this make sense under common sense gun control rules?

Hip Hop encourages young black men to become shooters and to teach them to wear their pants hanging down so the police know who are the "thugs."
The disarmed law abider in the inner city can't protect themselves.

I don't want to have a safe. I'm an American. Leave me alone.

Hey man, you guys wanted her to stop running amok in emotion. (I did too.) ;) She was asked about discussing solutions. She brought up a thought on a possible solution. It was a valid thought/problem solving point of discussion. May have helped in this situation where it was his dad's gun.

Disagreement does not equal hate. Calling each other names like 'idiot' does.
Obviously you cannot read either......I did not call her an idiot...take time to read all words before you bloviate and interject yourself in a conversation without the linguistic facts!

Great pizza, but it was run by a bunch of Arabs who couldn't speak English well and nowhere near any other Knoxville hotspots.

If they hired a local marketer and invested a bit more in realestate, it'd be tops man. Tops.

Must have been wonderful pizza. :D

It's disrespectful and I'm tired of listening to so-called Christians use that kind of language against each other. This is not PM, you are speaking PUBLICLY here in front on non-believers and on-the-fencers who need to see us supporting each other not bickering. A difference of opinion does NOT an idiocy make, and you can make your rebuttal respectfully without calling her ideas idiotic. Or saying someone must be illiterate because they see your implication that idiotic ideas come out of idiots. Which is NOT what you are dealing with here.

Be nice, that's all I'm saying. You don't know who's silently reading in and being turned off to Christ by the old SNL taglines. You don't need derogatories to make your points.

And this isn't just to you, but to the far too many of us who do it. We all gotta stop it. Think about that silent listener before you post.

Or there's a possibility that silent on lookers would take into account that dcontroversal and others are from military ranks and being so "peace like" is no easy thing, and yeah you can expect a cross word here or there or a sarcastic comment or such of that nature but that's to be expected,"warriors" aren't so keen on being "gentle" in words no different than any "spiritual warriors" that "don't back down" because to do so would likely mean "defeat" or chips in armor so to speak.
Think of it this way if particularly dcontroversal was more "peaceful like" or "polite like" as you and others would prefer, wouldn't that be someone else besides God/Jesus,defining what makes dcontroversal, dcontroversal?
I myself struggle with being somewhat "peaceful" or even "loving" because I am "determined" to do my utmost for God/Jesus and I can't help but get a burning in my soul to fight spiritually for him and imagine for dcontroversal it is a similar circumstance, being saved changes everything about a person's "service" but it doesn't change who a person is or their value, like with me no matter what I do in accomplishments or holding my tongue it won't change that I'm merely Joseph a child of God saved by the grace of God and Jesus's works, you can't expect people to "change" because you'd like them to otherwise that's "force" and not their idea or likewise what God/Jesus would want.

No one wants to get rid of all guns. And the fact that there are people who will kill anyway doesn't matter. Might as well be a weapon free-for-all with that logic.
Please tell me in your own words what the 2nd Amendment says, and means... and, if you are feeling really verbose, please tell me WHY you think the framers of the Constitution made it #2 in the Bill of Rights... (meaning, it's pretty important)

Where are the anti-gunners? Normally they jump on threads like this. Maybe it's the title.
