I just found out about that yesterday. He is the leader of the large guerilla army in africa that is kidnapping children and forcing them to kill for them. His army has been around for years and has murdered thousands of innocent people in very brutal ways. He must be stopped.

I heard about this on NPR today while driving home from school. they said that its kind of out dated, though there are others issues popping up all the time....

here is the article:

ONVAN: You mentioned, as you said, that the film makes very, very passing reference to the fact that Kony is no longer actually in Uganda. I want to play a moment from the film where, again, the reference to the fact that the situation has improved in Uganda is made most glancingly(ph).

(SOUNDBITE OF VIDEO, "KONY 2012")

RUSSELL: As the LRA began to move into other countries, Jacob and other Ugandans came to the U.S. to speak on behalf of all people suffering because of Kony. Even though Uganda was relatively safe, they felt compelled to tell the world that Kony was still out there and had to be stopped.

DONVAN: So technically, there's a reference to the fact that Uganda is relatively safe. But as you say, in 30 minutes, I think that's it. I think that's the single reference to the fact that the portrait of this mad man running around Uganda is outdated.

Yes, Kony is certainly an evil man, and should definitely be stopped. But here are some other things to consider. When the next person comes up to take his place, what then?

It's easy to say, oh, we must war on this man, but the fact is, there are a lot of evil people out there, and some who have recently died. Really, the only way to stop terrorism, which is exactly what this man promotes, is not just holding people responsible, but education as well.

For example, we had Hitler in the WWII trying to destroy the Jewish race. Now, we have people who are calling that into question, saying that it never happened. In a couple of decades, men like Kony will be remembered by some as martyrs for their cause, not for being evil, unless, we start teaching people and continue to teach.

Then there is also the other side of the picture, what caused Kony to do what he did? What were his reasons? Was it because he was power hungry or maybe he felt like he was being unjustly treated by the government, or was it for religious beliefs. In order to prevent men like Kony from rising up in the first place, we need to look at our own selves. How are we treating others? How are we, as Christians, teaching other Christians to act around people who are not Christians? Believe it or not, the LRA started as a "Christian Army" and some were along the way, it went ballistically wrong.Somewhere, Kony and other leaders got the impression that it was right to use force to make others worship God. Hmm, sounds like another major religious fanatics group. Anyone remember the Taliban? We got rid of Osama Bin Laden, and yet they are going strong.

So just getting rid of Kony will not be enough to stop the LRA.

Yeah, whatever. Nothing ever happened.
