Not that I think Christians should be buying one...makes a mockery of these Bible verses:

Matthew 6

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I noticed that the sense of FEAR is the common denominator instead of Faith in God.

Finding false security in THINGS and not in CHRIST our Rock and our Shelter.

coincidentally those were the verse that RoboOp used for the Bible study today. Lol :) they keep popping up. I posted this before the Bible study. then shared the verses with someone after the Bible study who needed prayer and they said they just finished reading them.

I think God really wants us to remember not to worry, He's got it all under control. :)

wow. lol, That is exactly what they are doing, isn't it.

I have to agree with Gabe on this, at the end of the World, I don't want to be here. I'd rather be with God.

I don't like that commercial, I also don't like the tv preacher that goes around selling food supplies that will last years. The world is not going to end. The bible says that the saints will be reaptured, satan will be released on earth then The Lord will come back to cast Satan into the Lake of Fire, then he is going to purge the earth and heavens and then set up New Jerusleam Where HE will rule forever. If we accept Jesus Christ as our savior and Lord, we don't have to worry about the endtimes. We must prepare ourselves for His soon Coming.

Well if there was another world war, Id build one since my grandparents did the same thing in WW2 and it saved their lives and was just common sense for looking after your family.

But in the case of "end of world" disasters and apocalypses (lol!), Id just think ce la vie, come what may, cos I know where Im going if I die :D

Read David Brin's The Postman. A work of fiction, but it goes well to explain the folly of survivalism.

If that were true then why did the Apostle John write about the end of the age in 90 AD? Far too many prophecies were not fulfilled in 70 AD for that to be considered the end of the age. It was clearly a foreshadow of things to come. :)

The late date is not valid.

If rev is still written after ad 70, then why is the temple still standing? Why does it mention the temple being trampled by the Gentiles just like it was in ad70?

It doesn't. It mentions a temple who's outer courts are occupied by gentiles. If the events of 70 AD was the fulfillment of Rev. 11 then where were the two witnesses?

Also, as for the events of 70 AD, while the temple was indeed left desolate, the abomination of desolation did not occur. In fact, the entire reason for temple's destruction and the second exile of the Jews by the Romans was because the Jews would not allow Calligula to place a statue of Zeus in the temple thus the rebellion.

Putting all personal beliefs aside, I'm open to any suggestions on info that you might know of concerning the actual age of the book of Rev. Given your Ammillennial endtime perspective, I realize that you run into a pre 70 AD date probably as much as I run into a post 90 AD date due to my Historic Premillennial perspective.

On the bright side, at least neither of us are dispensationalist. :)
