Ok, so Pat Robertson has once again made an extraordinary controversial statement. That if Peyton's old injury comes back, then the Bronco's got what they deserved. Read the article and then leave comments. I'm also including some articles from some of his other articles. Do you think what he's saying is being taken out of context? Do you think Pat Robertson goes overboard?

Haha I read about this. The media will do anything to make a well known christian evangelist look bad. When his words are taken in context, its really just something anyone would say.

Oh and hai Kat!! :D

While i think he is a bit off his rocker in many things he says, as far as the football comment, to me that sounded more like a hyped up fan spewing off at the mouth, like so many do, rather than some weird spiritual thing. Just my take on it.

Multiple sources indicate Robertson said, "... Peyton Manning was a tremendous MVP quarterback, but he's been injured. If that injury comes back, Denver will find itself without a quarterback. And in my opinion, it would serve them right."

This is extremely ugly, especially coming from somebody who is supposed to be a religious leader. How is he being quoted out of context? How is "the media" (that ever-popular whipping boy of Christians) at fault here?

This isn’t the first time that Pat Robertson’s comments have sparked controversy after a natural disaster or national crisis. He had remarked that 9/11 occurred due to the United States stance on abortion and also linked abortion to Hurricane Katrina.

The man is a disgrace and has a long history of mean and ignorant statements. He doesn't deserve special consideration because he's an evangelist; if anything he should be held to a higher standard of behavior and speech.

Well, i'm looking through the posts and don't see anyone excusing his behavior because he's an evangelist. To me you just sound like another Christian basher anyways.

Ugly, refer to zeroturbulence's post. I suggest you look harder next time before criticizing in your self-righteous Christian way. To me you sound like the typical apologist.

By the way, Ugly, I don't need to bash Christians. They do a beautiful job of it on their own.

Babi, I'm not excusing Pat Robertson from his statements. The thing is, that statement can be looked at another way. Since they let Tebow go for Manning, they only have one really good Quarterback, who happened to have a serious injury at some point. If that injury comes back to haunt Manning, then the Bronco's no longer have a seasoned quarterback. The Bronco's would deserve it, because they discounted the injury. That is one way it can be viewed. The other way, is that Pat R. did say he wanted Manning to have an injury. And in light of some of his other rants, that can be easily interpreted that way. It's more how you look at what's said.

And I do agree that he should be held to higher standards, especially if he is an evangelist, and one whose widely televised.

I have some respect for Mr. Robertson, but his "musings" reflect the fact that he is a minister who has put on too many hats. A man otherwise strong in truth has derailed because of earthly distractions.
