1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

1Jn 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try(test) the spirits to see if they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Near death experiences can be deceiving, test the spirit's and see if they are from God, all the extra biblical experiences do nothing to bring a sinner to real repentance and faith, focus on this, walking a life worthy of your calling, abstaining from all this experience based religion.

Most is unprovable, stick to the word, coming our of the world and its vain attractions, and most of all crucify your flesh with Christ, this is the best experience you can have!

I am always skeptical about these stories.
There are dozens of near-death/out-of-body xperience accounts... some sound phony, others who knows.

Always tread carefully with these stories.

I just never trust these stories. So many of them are bizarre. There really is no benefit for me by involving myself in them either. I'll find out for myself when i die and then i'll know the truth.

When a Christian dies, he or she is present with the Lord. The Lord does not toss anyone back. A man is appointed to die how many times? one, two, three, four, five. This is the answer to this crazy story of one dying and then returning. To say that one was dead and then is alive again, makes the Bible which is God's word of no value.....Cheers

Problem with these stories is there is no consistency in them. Some people see a bright light, some people float in water, some people wake up in hell, some people go on a guided tour of the spiritual world with the Messiah. One person describes hell one way, another person another way. People make revelations about things in heaven, when in the bible people who saw these revelations were commanded to keep quiet.
There is no biblical basis, there is no consistency, and it leans to closely to something spiritual that does not settle well in my spirit. Just like gold dust, holy laughter, and the such.

How do you explain Lazarus?
------

Actually, one of these dead back to life stories was proven to be true, at least by the medical profession. A man in TX was pronounced dead by the EMT's. A preacher just happened to come across the seen and felt the need to pray over this man, even though he had already been declared dead. Ninety minutes after being declared dead, the man started singing. This occurred probably ten or more years ago. The man's name was Don Piper.

And then we have the babies who die are found alive in morgues.

If you have not read "Heaven Is For Real", it is well worth the time and money. It is short and easy to read. It is quite inspirational. I recommend it to anyone interested in these experiences. I found out about it at services one Sunday. It is really hard to put down once you start reading.

You mean when Jesus raised Lazarus? Jesus performed miracles to prove he was the Son of God. That does not mean people are waking from the dead today.

When Paul was caught up in the 3rd Heaven he was forbidden to tell what he saw. God forbade a famous apostle to tell what he saw. Why would people be allowed to tell it today IF they actually saw something? His near death experience contridicts scripture. Also, when your brain lacks oxygen you are likely to hallucinate. My sister did that hours before she died. She was having a conversation with my father who died almost 20 years before.

IS this the book where a 4 year old claims he saw his lost loved ones, and he was an angel with wings and a halo? That right there doesn't match up with the bible.
Not all angels in the bible had wings. To assume when we go to Heaven we will be like an angel contridicts scripture.

The halo we see on angel images today is from greek art, and not mentioned in the bible.

Lazarus was raised from the dead, as important as this story is and was, there was nothing written about him having a visit to heaven. Or the other people who were raised from the dead, the girl, Lazarus, and a boy I think by Elijah. None of these ever spoke of being to heaven and back. It says Heaven is in our hearts. Which I believe because the Lord is with us, and all these things could of been just imaginations. I don't doubt the power of God. It's important to know why none of these that were raised from the dead by Christ, or a phrophet that nothing was ever written or never did they say, they went to heaven and back. There were a lot of visions about heaven, John the Revelator was one, but he didn't actually die, and come back, it explains him like being in a trance or vision. The other scripture that says, " no man has seen or heard what heaven will be like", I don't think God would allow this to come back to earth. Only what was written in the book of Revealation as a description. IF it says no man, then God dosn't lie.

No, not that I recall but, I could be wrong. What I remember is this boy who died from an acute appendicitis, went to heaven and later, talked about it with his parents. They did not believe him at first until he described certain things he could not have known.

I don't want to say it is completely true. I do not know for sure. I do know it was inspirational and it was talked about at the non-denominational Christian service I was attending.

I was using that as showing miracles can happen. Yes Lazarus was raised from the dead by Jesus. And anyone else that is also raised by God. As for, John I didn't think he was actually dead, but then, it's possible I missed something. I also think, he was shown secrets that no other alive person has ever seen.
