Having seen preachers at a pride event, they are usually anything but friendly and loving towards people they disagree with as this video claims.
However, they do have a right to say what they want and I'm actually surprised because at the events ive been at, police usually surround anti-lgbt protesters to protect them from obnoxious people, but I guess pennsylvania has decided something different. I honestly hope that they don't get convicted, LGBT are sexual minorities not ethnic minorities so the law shouldn't apply, and besides if Nazis and kkk people are protected by the 1st amendment, surly a few afraid people with signs should be too.

Jack - we must always preach with love. There will be people who feel attacked if what we share is against their beliefs, regardless of how we deliver the message. People in false religions will often accuse you of judging them when you share the truth in love, but we've been instructed by Christ to share truth.

It's sad to me that Christianity is not taught in schools and teachers are forbidden to share their faith. They claim it's due to religious equality so as to not play favorites among religions but yet they teach Evolution, which could be considered a religion as it's a "system of beliefs".

1) How is a bunch of people holding signs saying you're going to hell preaching with love? How is saying someone's deepest beliefs are wrong not being judgmental?
2) Christianity, nor any other faith system atheism or otherwise should be taught in schools
3) There's no such thing as a false religion, just different perspectives, you wont be fully sure till your dead, thats why its faith not fact

The only messages I see in the video are: "Jesus died to save sinners" and "You must be born again" - these are not aggressive messages, they are truth, quoted straight from the bible. Obviously I was not there so cannot confirm on how they were preaching but I agree with preaching on the streets in love, sharing the word of God with others. God does not like sin. Sin is what's separates people from God.

When I posted my last reply I was making the assumption you were Christian, but I see from your profile that you're "unsure".

Actually, there is one truth and a lot of falsehoods. All religions are different and hold to different teachings and beliefs. There are a lot of false religions claiming to be Christian but they do not hold up when tested against the bible. Many don't check though, so they continue to be deceived by the people leading the religion.

Sharing truth is not judging. It's what Christ instructs. Once you know the truth you must share with the world.

Christ said there is a narrow road and a broad road.... Matthew 7:13-14: "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it" - we need to be on that narrow road. It's the least popular with the world as many choose the broad road (the most popular route).

Ephesians 2:8-10: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them"

Jack - if you're waiting until you die to find out where you're going it's too late then. First comes death and then judgement. We have to be born again before we die. I can tell you that once you're born again you know where you're going, God changes you and you just know you're going to Heaven, your eyes are opened, you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. God says that "you must be born again to see Heaven" - you cannot be born again once you're dead, it has to happen while you're still alive.

We were all born physically but we were born spiritually dead (spiritually separated from God). We inherited a sin nature from Adam and Eve. God does not like sin. Sin separated us from God. So we have to be reconnected with God before we die. This is what we call being born again. We're born physically (first birth) and have to be born spiritually (2nd birth). It's a supernatural experience, not a religious experience. We are born again when we have faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross, that He was the sacrifice for our sins, that He paid the price that we cannot. We have to humbly admit we are sinners and that we need forgiveness for our sins. We need to ask God to cleanse us from our sins. If you genuinely mean it you will feel the Holy Spirit enter you, your life will change and your eyes will be opened to the truth.

Ive seen street preachers plenty of times in my own city and larger places like NYC and at my college campus. None of them are anything close to how christians should be in fact they are embarrassing to christians. hey preach nothing of love or forgiveness its always condemnation and sin. So you know it, im willing to bet this guy was the same as the rest and deserved to be arrested and Im glad he was. Christians like that give us a bad name.

I personally believe that when we go and preach we should find those fields that are white and ready for harvest, There will be times of sowing and watering and also times of reaping a harvest. I don't see where a gathering like this one is a field ready for harvest, especially in light of (Romans 1). I know they are promoting sin in the public streets, just like they did in Sodom, and it is shameful. Lot had vexed and afflicted his righteous soul with the filthy unbridled lust of the shameless wicked that he lived among in Sodom. It may not be long before they take over some of the streets or areas of parks in certain districts of some major cities to practice that which is unseemly and reprehensible being filled with with their own corruption, but they have their day of being judged according to their works.

Instead of going out and provoking them in their own events sanctioned and permitted by these cities and bringing attention to their civil rights to peaceably assemble under their banner that God has disapproved, rejected and given them over to, just leave them to their own corruption. If they violate the peace and sanctity of life that others enjoy during these types of gatherings on the public streets and byways, then the laws can be enforced to restrict their unlawful behavior. Make no mistake about it, these reprobate groups must take their position by force to be accepted by others. They are under the control of a reprobate mind that has been rejected three-fold; by themselves early in life, by others because of their lasciviousness that is against nature and by God who has given them over to these things and unto the lusts of their own hearts to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. They are truly a corrupt and deceived people through their own vile inordinate affections and have become filled with all unrighteousness as the scriptures have said.

Let's use wisdom and go where the fields are white and ready and reap a harvest and pray to the Lord of the harvest to send reapers into His field for the laborers are few.

Her are my objections to this type of demonstrations:
1) Why do you throw pearls to swine; to people who wont listen, and eventually put you in jail?
2) Is the freedom of speech a freedom to harrass other peoples? Would you like if there were demonstrations aginst the christians, everytime they had meetings? Or maybe harrassment of those who believe in christ? Harrassment is a subjectiv feeling, not something we define as christians.
3) Why dont speak to those who wants to listen instead of those who hates your message?
4) Isnt beeing a christian a free choice, and the gospel something that must be receveid by a receiving and Godfearing heart?
5) Is the object to provoke people? If not, how come these christians dont understand how provoking it is for people who belongs to Satan?
6) Did Jesus go around harrassing people who lived in sin? Didnt he only replied to those who asked or tried to attack him? That is the principles of God: Let those who seek be answeard.
7) The Love of christ is also a respect for people who will not receive Christ and the will of God. This respect for the ungodly is also what will judge them.
8) If these demontrations are the "consern" for Hell, Why not instead speak about the sin and the consequenses of sin to those who seek the truth? To those who have ears? Let them hear!
9) Are they conserned that there might be people in the parade who might come to repentance? Maybe prayer would be a more powerfull weapon?
10) Is it likely that you will cause a repentance among some of them? When you read the Roman 1:25-28, there is not likely that these people will repent. The participants in the parade do probably belong to the most hardened among the homosexuals.
10) Let us respect that people have a free choice, and that free speech never should be misused for harrassment, or to replace the individual freedom.
11) How come the Americans are so upset by this particular sin; homosexuality, at the same time as the whole society is drowning in all types of sin? Like; wars, military invations, capitalism, prostitution, selfisnhess, greediness, moneyism, vanity, lies, heterosexual sins, Hollywood and Las Vegas? Why dont you never see American Christians in demonstrations against wars or capitalism? Maybe because they dont care!
12) The freedom of speech is much more free in the written word than in the word spoken directly to a person or a group of people. Cause when you write something (in general) Only those who wants to read it - should read it. Its not written for those who will not agree! In example; the Budhists write stuff for the budhists, and the socialists for the socialists. Therefore the wisdom is to speak in general.

Awesome lifeinchrist!
We do not know the whole story. The video certainly makes the Christians out to be innocent victims, but wisdom was lacking. These are random examples, do some may have been done, but consider them nonetheless.
Have you ever seen Christians "protesters" even with a good message at a
1. Strip club
2. Brothel
3. Crack house
4. Mardi gras or Carnaval
5. A public peyote ritual
6. A pot parade
Or any number of public events created to publicize sin. Jesus didn't chase after sinners to tell them they were wrong.
