Current President Mohammed Morsi allegedly stated that he will "achieve the Islamic conquest of Egypt for the second time, and make all Christians convert to Islam, or else pay the 'jizya' (Islamic tax)."

The following article was written during the time of the runoff election on May 31, 2012, while Morsi was still a candidate. The conversation reportedly took place at the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood Freedom and Justice Party.

What is the alternative if Christians refuse to convert OR pay the tax? I heard someone say awhile ago, "They can only kill us once."

I don't agree with slaughter, I tend to be a bit of a pacifist myself.

I don't really care who did 9/11, it makes no difference to me.

It is naive of us to believe Islam does not have similar goals that the PTB have.

if the same PTB who did 9-11 and lied about it, are the same ones who took us to 7+ active wars against Arabs after blaming it on them; are providing us with media sound bytes and close-ups of flag burnings etc; and have stoked a warped Islam they helped create (wahhabism) and are demonizing Arabs as a group thinking we equate evil Islam with evil Arab.....we are naive.

Yeah, sounds like this guy doesn't know his history. In ancient times when the islamic cultures dominated, they allowed other religions (like Jews and Christians). The Christian Bishops were valued for their linguistic skills where they knew Greek and Latin.

But I know the Coptic (descendants of the Ancient Egyptians) Christians get it tough there now :(

Jizya is not a tax, the muslims don't pay jizya. It is a penalty, for Jews and Christians, for a sign of disgrace and humiliation/subdued.

What history did you read from? It's a commandment of the quran. Jeez. Christians and Jews, if you want to live in Dar-Al-Salam (Land of Peace which means governed by Sharia), you either pay the penalty (again, it IS NOT a tax) and be subdued. or you can die and go to hell.
That is simply what sura 9:29,30 is saying.
So maybe the history you read was a falsified one.
