I apologize to Elizabeth, who started this thread, but it bears mentioning that this is a lie. Hitler was an atheist. Most of Germany in the 1940's, of those who claimed any religion, were Protestants, not Catholics. Hitler ordered the killing of many Christian preachers who wouldn't go along with his hate.
Check your religion demographics of Germany during that time period. The majority of Germans
were Catholics. Hitler had many quotes where he mentioned Jesus and Catholicism. I can dig them
up if you'd like or you can with a simple internet search. Besides, even if Hitler was an atheist it doesn't
mean that he did evil things BECAUSE of atheism. He was an evil man, no doubt, but atheism doesn't
automatically mean EVIL.

For good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Hitlers corrupted view of religon is what caused the evil things he did.

You'll have to show me the money then, because I'm not seeing it. "The German census of May 1939 indicates that 54 percent of Germans considered themselves Protestant and 40 percent considered themselves Catholic." Admittedly not a huge difference, but it doesn't make the Nazis "Catholic." A little hard to decide who was a Nazi anyway, considering people were forced to join. And of course Hitler used anything he could to further his cause, most people agree he had no scruples. He also used Nostradamus to further his position, but that is not the fault of Nostradamus.

I never said atheism made him evil. What I did was something called 'refutation'. You can search it on the internet if you want to learn more about it. This isn't my thread, so I'm through here. I don't think the O.P. wants to hear any more outlandish claims about religion making good people do bad things. I know you don't believe The Bible, but it says that no one is good.

Is Protestant not Christian? If they were Protestant and Catholic doesn't that
still mean Christian? So Christians carried out the acts of the Holocaust? I will
find the Hitler quotes later.

You mean like these Hitler quotes? Why did Adolf Hitler hate Christianity so much? - YouTube

Anyone that believes Hitler was actually a Christian is indredibly gullible, not to mention severly lacking in discernment, and they'd believe that Osama Bin Ladin was a Christian too if they found a sticky note on the sidewalk that claimed such.

Anyone can say they are a Christian. Doesn't mean they are one.

They were neither protestant nor catholic, nor christian.

'Love thy neighbour as thyself, for all the law is fulfilled in this one command'.

Nor Jews 'thou shalt not kill'.

Nor muslims "O mankind! Allah created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other ,not that you despise each other'.

Nor Buddhists 'Majesty, the love for which all beings truly hunger is loving kindness and compassion. Maitri is the love that has the capacity to bring happiness to another. Karuna is the love which has the capacity to remove another's suffering. Maitri and karuna do not demand anything in return. Loving kindness and compassion are not limited to one's parents, spouse, children, relatives, caste members, and countrymen. They extend to all people and all beings. In maitri and karuna there is no discrimination. no 'mine' or 'not mine.' And because there is no discrimination, there is no attachment.

*Kills millions of Jews* * Invades countries* *Starts war*

The athiest crusade makes no sense to me. There is no one who is not "religious". People who believe in evolution, buddah, or even no belief at all, are putting their faith into something. Athiest put their faith into evolution, and if not evolution, then what? A lot of them believe that the universe as a whole makes up "god", and they are a part of this universe, thus they are also "gods( which is the lie satan told eve, that she can become like god )". Some athiests, especially the new age, believe aliens could be our gods. They all have a theological outlook and system of rules they follow, whether it's defined by an official religious doctrine or not. My question is, how can the world be more comfortable allowing these people to work against christians, who only work for the betterment and peace of mankind? athiest are much more radical in their beliefs than christians and base their beliefs on fallible theories nd oftentimes, on absolutely nothing but their own imaginations!
