What sort of weapon does Jesus recommend for you? Did he ever suggest that killing someone for any reason was good? Or do you even care what Jesus would do?

"Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."

Did Jesus ever tell the Roman Soliders to put down their weapons? Did he ever tell the Jews to fight? Did he ever promise them victory?

"Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."

yet, when one of his disciples USED his sword:

49 When those around Him saw what was going to happen, they asked, “Lord, should we strike with the sword?” 50 Then one of them struck the high priest’s slave and cut off his right ear.
51 But Jesus responded, “No more of this!”[a] And touching his ear, He healed him.

Because Jesus had to go to the cross and he needed them to spread the gospel

He could still have gone to the cross, how far do you think they would get if his disciples killed the guards?.... (unless Jesus had used his powers to protect them)

But then all of them would have been killed along with Jesus .. Matter of fact they should have been but Jesus didn't allow it.

I was being sarcastic .. With all the shootings going on it is talk about taking our guns away, I'm just pointing out that the so called good guys makes mistakes also. So if they don't lie down their guns then why should the average citizen??

So the law is going to show up at my house with a gun telling me I need to give them my gun or they are going to use their gun to kill me
Now that makes a lot of sense

that is why I think no one should have guns ;) Their only intention is to wound/ kill, no matter who is behind it

You are taking this out of its context. Jesus new that the soldiers were there for a purpose, to do their part to fulfil the profesy. He knew that to fight against the soldiers would be out of order in that situation

Also, He didn't tell Peter to throw the sword away, He told him to sheath it.

John 18:
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?”

I agree, JimJimmers. Jesus knew Peter had the sword all along. It would be a tough thing to hide, especially from the Lord. Jesus didn't forbid him to have it. He told him to put it away.

To save an innocent life I would take a guilty one. As a scared child I made a pact with God. Always make sure there will be a beast to save me from a beast and when im grown ill be that beast for others. God held up His end, ill hold up mine. I would feel much more worried being judged before God if I stay indifferent during an act of fatal brutality toward the weak or innocent.
