Christian Broadcasters' Cameras Trained on Mount of Olives to Capture Christ's Return

Two of America's biggest evangelical Christian broadcasters have stationed cameras on a hill overlooking Jerusalem, ready to cover the return of Jesus Christ from the Mount of Olives as predicted in the Bible, should any such event occur soon.

Texas-based Daystar Television Network was first to install a 24/7 camera from its terrace overlooking the Mount of Olives, and now Costa Mesa-based Trinity Broadcasting Network has bought the building next door, allowing it the same opportunity. The Mount of Olives, a mountain ridge east of Jerusalem, is rooted both in Jewish and Christian traditions, and is where Jesus is said to have preached to his disciples and later ascended to heaven, according to Acts chapter one.
The studios also plan on using their foothold in Jerusalem to teach the message of Jesus to the local Jewish population – and encourage Messianic Jews, who believe Jesus is the Christ, to minister to others.
"The main thing we want to do is help sponsor what we call Messianic Jews, or Jews that have received Jesus Christ as their Messiah," said TBN co-founder Paul Crouch, according to the Los Angeles Times. "We want to do some Hebrew language programs to reach out to Jews and entice them to read the word of God and become what we call a completed Jew."
However, Orthodox Jewish people are said to not take too kindly to their evangelism plans in Jerusalem.
"One of the things I find offensive is that they are bragging about their missionary work," said Ellen Horowitz, research director at Jewish Israel, which tracks and counteracts Christian missionaries in Israel. "They're actually very in-your-face about it."

"Our people have been through the wringer already with either persecution or assimilation," she added. "Now people finally get to a Jewish nation and someone pushes a copy of the New Testament in Hebrew at them. A sensitive line is being crossed."
Christian groups, such as a prayer center that operates near Mt. Zion run by American missionary Rick Ridings, a nephew of Paul Crouch, have argued, however, that Christianity needs more of a voice in Israel.
"Christianity is not represented in Israel as well as it could," Crouch said. "We hope to equalize that and give Christianity a better platform."

That is sick! Aren't there far better things to do here on earth than 24/7 tape the mount of Olives "just in case." Maybe they really dont have anything better to do and that is what is really sad.

They don't need a camera. They'll notice we all disappeared!

With all the nukes going off and black hawk helicopters flying around during the great tribulation, I'm thinking the power may go out, or circuit boards in cameras watching the mountain may destruct. Is the camera built with material that can withstand nukes, world wide earthquakes, and many stars falling to the Earth?

Is this sn attempt to capyure the rapture event or the 2nd coming when Jesus returns to set up His kingdom after the tribulation? I've always assumed and learned that the rapture willhappen so fast that it's like the blinmk of an eye. If it is the 2nd coming then why would there be a need for a camera. The Bible say every eye will see Him. TBN can be kinda weird sometimes.

I really do not understand this idea. I wonder if this a live feed? They could be using that money to do something useful right now. There are times when these "christian" channels really amaze me.

Is the intent to capture the rapture on film or to record Jesus' actual physical return? First, I wouldn't think that it could be captured on film. Second, if it is His 2nd coming then again...why record it? If it is the 2nd coming which as I understand is different from the rapture. DWould we really need evidence that He returned? The Bible says every eye will see Him.

This is the same channel with the nearly 24/7 fund raising. There are some decent preachers on there...when they are not selling dvds/prayer shawls, shofars, books, and scheduled appearances by the Holy Spirit. It makes me mad when I turn on either channel and someone else is telling us how God just spoke to them personally with a message that eceryone needs to hear. Then they turn around and sell that oh so very important message for 50.00.

Blain,

I didn't mean to slap anyone...even virtually. Maybe my post sounded that way. Like I said before I do run into some good teachings on both channels. But, it doesn't make up for the amount of outright false teaching and the gospel of prosperity that they seems to preach about. I don't thinki there is a need to name names. Anyone who watches will hopefully know who they are. Ministries do need money to operate. I amn obody special and would not dare to consider myself all that spiritually mature...especially after only 2 years. But, I do think that the Holy Spirit testifies to our spirit and tells us what is right and wrong...doctrinally that is. If a preacher has such an important message for God's children then He wants it passed along...for free...To me they remind me of the very people that Jesus chased out of the temple. One preacher had a message for JUST 8 people and he would only talk about this message for 8 minutes. Thirty minutes later he was done. Of course, it was repeated twice a day for a week. Maybe this is all part of the "falling away" that Paul talked about in Thessalonians? I think people know a con when they see one. People like this give the honest, sincere people a bad name.
