Given that the US defense budget is equal to 40% of the world's defense spending, Romney has said he wants to raise the defense budget $2 trillion above what the pentagon itself wants and there is the otherwise invisible stimulus. While he has not said specifically that he treats that money as a stimulus, it just works out that way. Historically defense jobs have been well paying jobs and Romney has spoken of as many as 12 million new jobs. Maybe not all of those would be defense jobs but it does mean a huge increase of people and materiel bought and paid for by you the tax payer for those purposes.

We must question just what purpose is there to extra defense jobs? Already the US is the single country who sells and distributes more weapons all around the world. They go to our friends and even to some rather dubious dictators who currently support our international position but it still remains that under Romney it seems the real purpose of US manufacturing would become a far more concentrated source for the items of war, of killing other people all around the world.

Is this the image we want to project to everyone around the world? A nation ready, willing, and eager to go to war: to actually use the huge stockpiles of the weapons we make. It puts a lie to the concept of the US a lover of peace. Fact is that the US has already been using that huge stockpile by invading and otherwise manipulating countries all around the world. If ever there was an international bully it is the US.

Celest, my current plan is to write-in "Jesus Christ" on the ballot for President, because I'm so disappointed in Obama, and Romney's either an idiot or a menace. (I won't make a judgment one way or the other -- but if he realizes the effects of his plan, he's a menace to society, and if he doesn't he's an idiot.) However, I'm strongly thinking of substituting your name. I like what you say.

Unfortunately Jesus Christ will not be here to assume the position as president of the US if he is elected.

You never know, he might come back by then .... But he would be unqualified, because he wasn't born in the US ... and he really doesn't have a birth certificate.
