Ok, so there is a new article out that is showing that smart phones are effecting our health in more ways than seen before. One is stress, the belief that we feel we are never left alone. I have to admit, this is me at times. Because there are times when I really feel I have to scream when the phone goes off, (Don't worry, I'm at home when I do this, never in public. I don't want people to realize how truly insane I can be.) But I have found in recent weeks, that I have been leaving my phone at home accidentally, and it's quite liberating.

I agree. These newer phones and other gadgets which people plug themselves into have become (and not completely by accident) a great distraction from more important things. The addiction to social media, i.e. the narcissist's playground, is aggravated by the ability to be instantly notified whenever any one of your 900 "friends" does or says anything they feel like having their ego massaged over. And then whatever they said or did instantly becomes more important than anything you are doing or anyone you are with. Not only are the smartphones responsible for the physical ailments mentioned in the article, but are also, along with many of the other gadgets, being used to further the decay of civilization.

A 'cell phone' (or 'mobile' depending upon where you live) is just a tool and should be used as such...i.e. responsibly! ;)

I rarely take my smartphone out of my purse once I get home from work at night. I need the quiet.

I usually do take it out, simply because I use it as an alarm.
