NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A New York City police officer was arrested and charged with driving drunk in Queens Monday, police said.

This was the second case of drunken driving by police officers in New York City in three days, according to published reports.

Officer Ismile Althaibani, 29, was arrested around 3 a.m. in the Astoria section of Queens Monday while off duty, according to the NYPD. Police did not specify exactly where he was arrested.

I wasn't walking with God as I should have been while I was an officer, but I did not drink during that time because I didn't want to be a hypocrite and arrest others for doing something I was doing myself.

Alcoholism is rampant in law enforcement and I hate that it is. From personal experience and observation, I truly believe that PTSD plays a large part in this.
