Maine GOP Head Suspects Voter Fraud Because ‘Dozens, Dozens Of Black People’ Voted

By Annie-Rose Strasser on Nov 15, 2012 at 9:05 am
Maine GOP Chairman Charlie Webster

The head of the Republican Party in Maine thinks there might have been voter fraud in his state because “nobody in town knows anyone who’s black,” but black voters came in to vote on election day. GOP state chairman Charlie Webster aims to find those who committed the alleged fraud fraud by sending thank you cards to voters, and seeing if they are returned to sender.
In an interview with an NBC affiliate, Webster said he was astounded by the “dozens, dozens of black people” who voted, and thought it was odd because he personally doesn’t know anyone who knows a black person in town:
In some parts of rural Maine, there were dozens, dozens of black people who came in and voted on Election Day. Everybody has a right to vote, but nobody in town knows anyone who’s black. How did that happen? I don’t know. We’re going to find out….
I’m not politically correct and maybe I shouldn’t have said these voters were black, but anyone who suggests I have a bias toward any race or group, frankly, that’s sleazy.

He doesn't realize of course that caging voters is a highly unreliable means of detecting fraudulent voters. His not knowing any black is just one more sign of his prejudice.

Me thinks he doth protesteth too much! If he needs to know if there are Black people in Maine, which undoubtedly there are or All of America would have already heard about it, he need look no further than by going to the NAACP in that state and have a good conversation with them. Then he should also consult the American Civil Liberties Union that is always well informed about demographics and the race of all people in all of the states since they take many cases involving all groups. They should sure tell him the facts of life! I just can't believe the continued sour grapes of the Conservative Party after the election that no doubt Americans are well taking note of should they try to reemerge in 2014 or 2016. And they had the gall to say they were going to try to reach out to Black people more from now on in order to be more inclusive? What? Is this their new way of proving that?! In coming out with things like this, who in their right mind would ever believe or put their trust in them again! What we are seeing is a classic example called "More Of the Same!"

Or as one in their own party might have said "There they go again!"

Well, just as I and undoubtedly many others suspected, it looks like this guy sure had to eat his words and mighty quick too, Celeste and others! Such an insult should have never happened as it makes their party look quite bad! This penchant for shooting from the hip without having all of their facts straight and right before them always comes back to haunt them in the end! Here you go.

Webster apologizes for comments about black voters -- Amid heavy criticism, the Maine Republican party chairman says his comments were made 'without proof of wrongdoing' and he won't investigate. http://www.pressherald.com/news/maine-republicans-criticize-charlie-webster-party-chairman-over-black-voter-comments.html

Romney himself has essentially said that his campaign had no errors and nothing to feel sorry about. He said that Obama won by buying his base groups and giving them "gifts." Respect is what Obama gave them and that is something that the GOP does not understand if applied to anyone with less than a 7 figure income. When confronted the GOP brings out the adjectives like maggots or takers for the "47%."

And that is precisely why he lost the race! He and others do not understand that there is great paperwork and thorough checking involved before a person in this country can receive any kind of 'gift', as he may call it, from the government. And although it is not expected that he will ever run again for president, if he did, he would undoubtedly lose again with that kind of attitude towards the very people in this country who truly count and who could have given him their vote. There is still so much acrimony over his loss by many of his supporters that it is now beyond pathetic. I do wish they would move on and help in the effort to move this country forward as our president wants to do.
