Can't decide to laugh or cry....
Well I can certainly assure you that that's nothing to laugh about! People who are transgendered must go through so much pain, ridicule, hate and scorn in their life because some people prefer to look upon them with prejudice. There are famous people who are transgendered, according to media and news reports, like singer Cher's daughter Chastity who underwent sexual reassignment and became a man and was renamed Chaz. We do not know the "why's" but it is not for us to judge anyway. God loves every one of His children and if He can do it we should do no less!

It is no fun to go through and have to deal with, many of us have been beaten, raped, ridiculed even as kids,by our own parents, teachers, and also the church. As many as half of us have ended up committing suicide, many have drug and alcohol abuse issues on top of that, most end up alone. I can say for a fact it is no fun,be thankful that by His grace you also do not have to walk where I have had to.

Actually, I was referring to the idea that any Christian would consider the American Psychiatry Association an authoritative entity. Thanks for clearing that up for me. So basically what you are saying is that Chastity Bono electing to have a sex change has absolutely nothing to do with the sexcapade freak show she endured from her mother during her formative years plus having her father die when she was young and that her being born female was a mistake of God????

Can you be sure that it did have anything to do with Chasity have a sex change operation? Just because we deal with it does not mean we blame God for a making a mistake. (Granted some do) God did not make a mistake with me,but we need to remember that first the world is under a curse, two birth defects do happen, three how much has all the chemicals and hormones that have been used in the food supply and that which has been spewed into the air and water supply affected us? Some of it is consequences of living in a broken world, that is marred by sin.

Yet another anecdote confirming the confusion our society has undergone. In a century we have tried to turn our notions of morality into notions of psychology to create a more otherwise known of "normal." In our age, this too is broken.

I am not sure what you are trying to say... because you corrected my vocabulary on the other thread and by definition "TRANSGENDER" is mind issue not a birth defect. Sin fallen world aside, ALL believers are over-comers in Christ by the renewing of our MINDS.

It may be the definition but can we really say that just because we can't see it does it mean that there isn't a birth defect that cannot be seen from the outside?
I do agree with you the renewing of our minds does need to be a big part of it. It is not easy having to deal with it and knowing where one can walk within God's will on this and to learn to come to know Him,love Him,trust Him and obey Him. Just because we have to deal with this does not give us a license to sin.

Dearest Sarah, That is EXACTLY what I have been trying to tell these people happens to those they consider outcasts! And the suicide part is especially horrendous and The Hate Must Therefore Stop!! They are truly not doing God a favor by coming down so harshly on Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, and Transgendered people.

I am truly sorry you have been through this type of Hell and have had to endure it! No one should, regardless! As one who often enters the fray, literally the lion's den of un-popular subject matter usually dealing with a minority, the little guy who has little to no voice, I can say that no, I have not walked in your shoes but I have suffered greatly from witnessing the sound of hate by hateful people against others that still rings loudly in my ears from childhood by those who wanted to issue "correction" to others for their sins while never looking in their own closets. It is not a pretty sight to undergo or see. That is why I decided to speak out for people such as yourself because God surely loves you and knows what happened to you and will bring due punishment to those who abused you.

I embrace you in Christ's Love, Sarah! Please know and understand that. I am not here to judge or convict anyone as you can plainly see but to offer the other side to things that many purposefully miss in their penchant to consider themselves the authorities over others.

May God Bless You always, ((((dearheart!))))

Why would any Christian consider them not to be authoritative other than if they had extreme prejudice against them due to the positions they take after scientifically and medically thoroughly researching given subject matter and then presenting their findings to the world which may not always be congruent with Christian thinking.

As for Chaz, I am not here to judge him and do not personally know him to know any intimate details other than what has appeared for the public in the media. God makes absolutely no mistakes. But we may never know what truly drives a person to feel as they do to seek gender reassignment. We must however continue to show Compassion as God would expect no less from us.

If I may be frank, the homosexual agenda has the loudest voice in this culture. To say that they ate the bullied is a bit untrue at this point. That is how this agenda has been forwarded. Playing the victim in order o sway public opinion towards the underdog and forcing tolerance while being intolerant to those who don't accept the agenda. I was once a stone code liberal on this issue specially being part of the LGBT community but when God redeemed me He brought light to my view. It is not about judgment. it is sad that today calling a spade a spade is a public offense. How dare we call sin sin? As I see it the church has made some mistakes in dealing with the issue making it out to be the worst of all sins from which there is no redemption. but just because some have went to extremes don't mean the best way to balance their response is to deny LGBT lifestyles are sinful. They are. but that isn't the conclusion of the story. All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory and accept blasphemy of the Holy Spirit no sin is unpardonable. Christ came to free us from sin. If we would but repent and believe. We don't have to apologize for upholding a biblical view of sexuality. That same biblical view should lead us in love and grace with the gospel on our tongues.

I have learned that even though what I have to go through I have the Lord's promise that He will work this out for my good.

Romans 8

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

More Than Conquerors

31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[j]
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

One of the things that is often forgotten is that God tells us not to go by what we see on the outside. God sees the inner person,He sees the heart, soul, mind and spirit. God is also a God of truth. He is also not a God of confusion. Jesus tells us if we hold on to His teachings we will know the truth and the truth shall set us free. I have been through secular and Christian therapy,I have sought Him to be set free of whatever the cause of this is. I have sought healing and wholeness,I was prayed over in an Assemblies, people have prayed over me to have "the demons" cast out,and I have even asked the Lord to make my mind to be in one accord with my body. His answer to me was stop praying for these things, you are asking for the wrong thing. It's your body that is the problem. He has confirmed it over and over and over. So much so that it has even been confirmed by a fundamentalist, spirit filled, conservative pastor. And He calls me by the name He has given me.

As with the man born blind He has allowed this for His glory. It is my thorn in the flesh to keep me close to Him. Without Him I could never survive this. If He hadn't protected me from the times I had come to take my own life,I would be dead and have been thrown into hell. I am well aware of His awesome grace and mercy, that I truly do not deserve. Even though I do carry this He still expects me to obey Him and it is a fine line I must walk,it is the path He has chosen for me,and by His grace which is sufficient for me in all things,He will get me through this and bring me home. I am His servant and He will be my judge,He has not put me in this world to please others but to serve Him.

So much mis-information and ignorance on the subject. You can not group all these people in one category, so I think the reasoning behind dropping the mental thing is to be PC towards the genuine cases, even though it is blatantly obvious most of the cases are to do with mental health issues.

There are a few babies born each year with the wrong sexual organs, in rare occasions both! of course the number of these genuine cases is tiny, so people undergoing the transgender op for genuine reason is tiny and chances you will see or meet one of these people are remote.

Problems is the operation has become relativly cheap and easy to perform, combine that with mental problems where person is unhappy with their life, thinking they would do better as the oppostie sex, the so called health experts all queue up and tell this person that they should change sex if it makes them happy. Quite often they realise the change dosnt bring the happiness and some have the procedure reversed.

As it turns out, I find it convenient to state that I am EXTREMELY PREJUDICE...the bible is my guide for living, making decisions and defining how I am to conduct myself before God and the world. ANY organization, purported science, government, person... whatever... that promotes an agenda (thoughts or deeds) contrary to scripture is not standing on the same side of God's dividing line as I. Praise the Lord he has given me authority and a sound mind to JUDGE ALL THINGS and therefore recognize that by asserting to be attempting to "non-judgementally sit on the fence" you subject yourself to the same judgement...And I don't feel even a little bit bad about it.

If the bible is your guide to living thats great...but then you have to realize its not the same for everyone else, and its not your it to be against everyone else. You can just choose to ignore them. They certainly arent hurting anyone.

ppl can call Chaz a him all day long.
surgery changes nothing. a name change means nothing.
she is still a she.
and an unhappy she at that.

this is all confusion, it's all a deliberate attack from our enemy.

ex:
if person X is a drunk, no matter how much X cries all day and says their issue is because of childhood or genetics, X is still a drunk, and X needs to get sober.

it doesn't mean people aren't sympathetic, or not willing to help. and not that X shouldn't be validated as a suffering sinner.

it's that X's drunkenness can not and should not be validated.

same for any of this stuff.

we have to say NO to the culture changers.

"A "core mission" of the national curriculum in Swedish preschools is to eradicate gender roles, according to CBS News. Many preschools have hired "gender pedagogues" to help teachers "identify language and behavior that risk reinforcing" traditional male/female behaviors....

...What links Sweden's and America's social planners is a shared premise: That human beings are infinitely malleable, and that -- with enough browbeating -- other folks can be made to conform to their vision of the ideal society....

It's no surprise, then, that Sweden's gender-neutrality crusade -- carried out in the name of liberation -- ends up constricting human freedom. Exhibit A is the Swedish preschool that has ended "free playtime" because, as a staffer explained, when children are allowed to play as they wish, "stereotypical gender patterns are born...."

If you could rid the world of gender, would you? | StarTribune.com < click
