So, yeah, it's old news, but I wonder how many people are aware of it? :)

The IAO began funding research and development of the Total Information Awareness (TIA) Program in February 2003 but renamed the program the Terrorism Information Awareness Program in May that year after an adverse media reaction to the program's implications for public surveillance. Although TIA was only one of several IAO projects, many critics and news reports conflated TIA with other related research projects of the IAO, with the result that TIA came in popular usage to stand for an entire subset of IAO programs.

ellie,
all we have to do to know what is coming is look to the UK.
that's the model for what we are all headed into.

Fabian Style for us (particularly the Americans who have guns)...Barbarism and bombing back to the Stone Age with impunity for 'those colored people over there'.

UK government plans to track ALL web use: MI5 to install 'black box' spy devices to monitor British internet traffic

UK spy agencies want to install 'black box' surveillance devices across the country's communications networks to monitor internet use, it emerged today.

A report by an influential committee of MPs tells how spooks are keen to implement a nationwide surveillance regime aimed at logging nearly everything Britons do and say online.

The spy network will rely on a technology known as Deep Packet Inspection to log data from communications ranging from online services like Facebook and Twitter, Skype calls with family members and visits to pornographic websites.

But civil liberties and privacy campaigners have reacted with outrage, saying that the technology will give the government a greater surveillance capability than has ever been seen...

they're already doing it.
they're just telling us, and making their 'power' and plans known.

*shrug*

welcome to the global gulag.
and yet you'll have even people who say they know Christ who deny it's happening.

The Great Work.
The Age of Transition.
The Great Utopia.

the paranoid cabal who thinks we are all insane is at the wheel.
i wonder what they are paranoid of, and fearful of, and feeling guilty about:rolleyes:?

Isaiah 59:13
rebellion and treachery against the LORD, turning our backs on our God, fomenting oppression and revolt, uttering lies our hearts have conceived.

Mark 8:38
If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

Luke 12:9
But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God.

2 Timothy 2:12
if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us;

And our answer should be the same as Peter's

[SUP]67 [/SUP]“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.
[SUP]68 [/SUP]Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.[SUP]69 [/SUP]We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.

My sister and I were discussing the 'see you naked' screeners at airports, with me saying, basically, uh, NO!
She surprised me by answering that if she could know the flight would be safe it was fine with her. :(

Made me think of the line by Franklin--
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

And will lose both!

I hadn't realized that with all the data compiled on each of us, including medical, purchasing history and travel choices, free-time activities, cell and land line calls, and yes, internet usage down to every keystroke, etc, they can predict to a high degree of accuracy what our next move will be in any given situation.
They can predict what risks we will be willing to take.
(hmm--now why would they want to know that, I wonder?)

Computers, man.
Software that can pick a person out of a crowd at 500 meters by their gait!
Yet how many people here in the 'States even know how their liberty was completely gutted by the Patriot Act? :(

Global gulag, indeed.

If by that you mean you are unlikely to take risks,
I rather think they will be pleased, vassal. :)
