Calling it “The Great Crossover,” a report by academics and social activists shows that for the first time in history the median age of American women having babies is lower than the median age of marriage–25.7 and 26.5, respectively.

These “dramatic changes in childbearing,” the report states, results in dramatic statistics about American children. Among them, 48 percent of first births are by unwed mothers, and by age 30 two-thirds of American women have had a child, typically out of wedlock.

The only thing that's surprising to me is that the percentage isn't higher. I know of very few people that were not born out of wedlock.

Tho the situation isn't good keep in mind that no one is perfect and a woman can be forgiven for fonication and can raise her child/children to love The Lord. The sexual act is the problem. A baby is always a blessing.

It seems like a tough situation to be in, I imagine it can be tough on a child to be apart of a family that's parents are seeing other people or possibly seeing other people, even the whole being convinced out of marriage may also be tough on a child. I respect dad's and mom's who take on it though, regardless of marriage or not, I respect the parents a lot who take that on and I'm sure the child appreciates it as well.
