Messiah was No. 4 among the fastest-rising baby names in 2012, according to the Social Security Administration's annual list of popular baby names.

Great. The antichrist comes from My state.

This will disappoint a few ccer's thinking I could have very well been the antichrist. I'm finally off the hook.

On a serious note though I don't prefer to name a child "Messiah" the judge did overstep her boundaries.

Im not sure what i think about this one, on one hand you have the whole freedom thing, but on the other hand, everyone always gripes about wanting the law to based on Biblical principals, but when a judge intervenes because a child is named a name that blasphemes Christ, people get mad.

I don't see it as blasphemy as long as she isn't saying the child is THE messiah. In this case it is just a name.

It's kind of like naming a boy Joshua. Joshua in Hebrew is "Jesus" or a savior or deliverer.

If the government would just let me institute my Ministry of Names we wouldn't have this nonsense.

I'm moving to Canada.

If they tried to name the child Obama, then yes that would be blasphemy and rightly stopped from doing so.

They should just name him whatever the judge said on paper and call him "Messiah" anyway.
He'll probably be a fireman and save the judge's life. Then he can remind the dude what his name is.

"Thank you sir. What's your name?"

"You tell me."
