If I remember correctly the casualities for both wars is about 5000 american trooops.

In the battle for Iwo Gima (sp) in ww2, 20,000 americans died.

Reagan was called the teflon president because the media was friendly towards him.

The media in Obama's tenure, the only word to describe them would be..collaborators.

IBC has documented 112,017 - 122,438 civilian deaths from violence between 20 March 2003 and 14 March 2013. The most intense period of civilian deaths occurred during the shock and awe seizure of Baghdad where 6700 civilians were killed. At least 55% were caused by invading forces during the 10 year period.

From March 2003 to March 2009 (2 months after Obama inauguration) doing the math from the web site below, 86% of the civilians were killed in this period.

The War in Iraq: 10 years and counting :: Iraq Body Count

6481 civilian deaths estimated for Afghanistan.

America’s Afghan Victims | The Nation

3100 to 3600 civilians directly killed by US bombing in Operation Enduring Freedom from 2001 to 2003.

I am thinking the US need to look at more appropriate names for their operations.

I can imagine some of the names: Operation Hospital Holocaust, Operation Civilian Crush, Operation Schoolyard Slaughter, Operation Rape, Raze and Ruin, Operation Murder, Maim and Mutilate (RRR and MMM for short). But that wouldn't do well for the morale of the self-righteous war-mongers among the peasantry back home.

Hence what they say "The first casualty of war is the truth".

Larry Lewis, a researcher with the Center for Naval Analyses, a group that does contract research for the U.S. Military, claims in a new study that drones are responsible for 10 times more civilian casualties than strikes from manned aircraft in the War in Afghanistan.

Lewis based his research on several independent investigations that claim the occurrence of civilian casualties when the U.S. has reported no evidence of a civilian death.

Obama has authorized 193 drone strikes in Pakistan – four times the amount authorized by George W. Bush. According to Global Research, over the past four years, Obama has authorized attacks in Pakistan which have killed more than 800 innocent civilians and just 22 Al-Qaeda officers.

That constitutes at least 36 civilians per target.

How many of those are children? A new study compiled from The Bureau of Investigative Journalism lays it bare:

"2009 was again the most lethal year for Afghan civilians in the American-led war since the fall of the Taliban government in late 2001.

According to the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), 2,412 civilians were killed by the war in 2009, a jump of 14% over the number that lost their lives in 2008. An additional 3,566 Afghan civilians were wounded as a result of the war in 2009.[SUP][23][/SUP][SUP][24][/SUP]

Of these, UNAMA attributed two-thirds, or 1,630, of the deaths to the action of anti-government forces, around a quarter, 596, of the deaths to action by American-led military forces, and was not able to clearly attribute another 186 civilian deaths to any one side. A

irstrikes continued to be the main cause of civilian deaths resulting from US-led military action, with 359 Afghan civilians killed by US/NATO airstrikes in 2009.[SUP][24][/SUP]

In its mid-year report, the UNAMA underlined that "if the non-combatant status of one or more victim(s) remains under significant doubt, such deaths are not included in the overall number of civilian casualties. Thus, there is a significant possibility that UNAMA is under-reporting civilian casualties."[SUP][50] " -Wikipedia[/SUP]

I am not pro Republican or Democrat. Both need leaders and their cohorts need to put on trial for war crimes. I see George Bush is too scared to fly to Europe now. That is a start I suppose.

Finally we agree on something. It's hard to underestimate the damage the neo-conservatives who took over the Republican party from the paleoconservatives in the late 80's and early 90's did under both Bush's. CIA director turned president George Bush Sr and his alcoholic son are especially culpable for laying the foundation of free trade and the NWO, GWOT, etc... imo but the very immoral and often addicted modern liberal/progressive Democrats acted like the other hand in a glove cosigning and assisting them whenever possible (even when they meant not to). In addition, the Democrats literally laid waste to the morality that existed in our culture targeting especially the family and children.

It almost seems they won't be happy until every child is a homosexual planning their sex change operation and the nuclear traditional family no longer exists in this country. Their utter takeover and destruction of our once stellar public education system which today has largely failed and exists primarily as a baby sitting operation that they live off of, has been truly amazing.

When you have a two party system with both parties gone mad, you just live your life with integrity and do what little you can while watching the train wreck because you can't stop it. And make no mistake, it IS a train wreck we're witnessing.

I am not pro Republican or Democrat. Both need leaders and their cohorts need to put on trial for war crimes. I see George Bush is too scared to fly to Europe now. That is a start I suppose.

During Bush's time as pres, our local news gave daily updates on civilian and military deaths and new upadates on totals.
During Obamas time? never.
But the media isnt biased right?

It shouldnt be about who is favored, but about truth.
Saddly I see many blindly following an understanding decided for them, rather than being given the oppertunity to decide the truth themselves.

Liberal bias in the MSM is a factor; however, another factor is the uber secrecy Obama enforces upon government.

Obama Administration Has Gone To Unprecedented Lengths To Thwart Journalists, Report Finds

Obama has everything on lockdown from the public from his school records to public policy. He is the most untransparent president in my lifetime though Nixon came close. All that talk of transparency were deliberate lies. He runs Washington DC with his Chicago thug political style.
