[h=1]Michael Bloomberg: 'I Have Earned My Place in Heaven'[/h] [h=2]' It’s not even close.'[/h] 7:01 AM, Apr 16, 2014 • By DANIEL HALPER

Former New York City mayor is pledging to spend $50 million this year to push gun control, the New York Times reports. For this and other deeds (such as taking on obesity and smoking), Bloomberg believes he's going to heaven.
“I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close,” Bloomberg told the Times.
Here's the full context of Bloomberg's heaven quotation:
Mr. Bloomberg was introspective as he spoke, and seemed both restless and wistful. When he sat down for the interview, it was a few days before his 50th college reunion. His mortality has started dawning on him, at 72. And he admitted he was a bit taken aback by how many of his former classmates had been appearing in the “in memoriam” pages of his school newsletter. But if he senses that he may not have as much time left as he would like, he has little doubt about what would await him at a Judgment Day. Pointing to his work on gun safety, obesity and smoking cessation, he said with a grin: “I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close

Sorry Mr. Bloomberg, YOU WILL be stopped and the interview will be quite swift. If you get in it will be because of Christ's Perfect Blood shed on the cross for your sins and you having accepted it on earth--not that you gave out of your wealth to children with obesity. What a rude awakening he has coming in his old age...

Thank you for posting this - Need to pray for Mr. Bloomberg that God shows him his pride in such a way that he repents before his death & understands God's grace has blessed him in his life...and as a reminder to myself that pride is insidious & self-examination of motives is vital to avoid this fate....

What a weird out of touch thing to say.

Is this not typical of the world's rich though and always has been?

'being good enough through one's sacrifice' is pretty symptomatic of the human race.

It shows the arrogance of relying upon your own goodness in order to get to heaven.

Obviously his comments are gross I think we all agree on that.

Though quite frankly, I am sorta happy. This shows at least Bloomberg is now thinking about God and Christianity. Very interesting twist of fate and I hope he can learn more before his time passes. Reminds me of an article from a few months back where infamous atheist Ted Turner finally conceded that God is real.

Not for me to judge where they end up after this life, but I am happy at least some of the hardest hearted elites are cracking and acknowledging God finally.

Good news story!

True but he's not good, of course. He's a deceived immoral person who uses his money to spread sexual immorality. Nancy Pelosi did the same thing. She announced on television that she was "holy." She's not holy. She's FAR from holy.

"They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good." -Titus 1:16.

It shows the arrogance of relying upon your own goodness in order to get to heaven.

The word "good" in Titus 1:16 is agathós and in the context of Titus 1:16 refers to that which is inherently (intrinsically) morally good originating from God and empowered by Him in their life.

Just to be clear.

More hatred towards your neighbour? WOW.
At least SonInMe read enough of the quote to realize that Bloomberg's reasoning lies within his capacity to apply liberal principle, not his acquisition of wealth.

Way I see it it would not be a complete American Political opinion without SonInMe as our conservative pundit heh.

Lol us third partyers gotta swallow Bloomberg actually lol he was an Independent, arguably most important third party office holder in nation, but again that be an argument, powerful either way be the man who run NYC either way.

Though no more Bloomberg political headaches anymore since he retired now. See if the current Dem in power of NYC lifts that Big Gulp Ban lol. Big Government, Small Gulps. Bloomberg is a billionaire ain't he? Eh love of money makes men hard-hearted and a bit crazy (see History all of it(, But meh my hopes is in retirement some of the elites can find Jesus be they super rich like Bloomberg or actually many being of moderate by American standards income or even not so rich (it is true many politicians will retire even bankrupt, Nixon for instance died near penniless.) I believe such is possible though it might not be easy given the camel's hard time going through that needle, but I like to try to be an optimist as long as the person don't wield a ton of frightening power over my brethren anymore lol.

They're humorless is evident in their constant attempt to portray moral people as morally blighted... lol.

That's another thing about liberals....

they have no sense of humor

That is an interesting observation.

The liberal typically argues from the premise that man is fundamentally good except for the "morally blighted" people who ruin everything.

The conservatives generally believe everyone on earth and in history as morally blighted, so pointing it out isn't as much of a priority.

If you give do good to please God. God will reward you. If you do good for a worldly gain then don't expect anything in the next life

I have no use for 70 virgins...since there is no sex in heaven.....

and by the way the liberal thought is, let the rich pay since they are white ( the ultimate evil ) and earned their money.

( Heck, if they are male, heterosexual and christian, oh my gosh get the guillotine out )

Just a fyi, the humor in my original statement came from a Jerry Maguire reference.

Lol. Will there be sex in heaven?

On a serious note, Muslims are LOST and on their way to hell. Interestingly, some Muslims know this because Islam teaches that Muslims are to spend time in hell for their sins and after paying for their sins in this fashion for a time determined by the crime, Muslims will then be allowed into paradise.

Muhammad made an exception for prophets (ie. himself), of course, and for anyone dying in battle for the cause of Allah's religion. TheReligionofPeace - Islam: Can a Muslim Avoid Hell by Killing?

Islam is a fabricated religious cult full of false assertions and the people that die in it go to hell alright: they just never leave that place.

All Muslims repent for the kingdom of God is at hand and there is no other name under heaven except Jesus Christ by which one can be saved and enter heaven.
