If you have school aged children take warning!

A high school student in Tennessee was disciplined when she allegedly told a classmate “bless you” after they sneezed.

Warn your children before sending them off to school (especially government schools) that filthy, demeaning words like "bless you" can be a form of 'hate speech' that may offend others. If they don't heed your warning they (along with you) may be required by the law to attend sensitivity classes at your expense.

If they happen to be in a lterature class discussing the author "Hans Christian Anderson" be sure that they pronounce the word "Anderson" loud and clear immediately after the word "Christain". Using the word "Christian" alone in a sentence will certainly lead to their expulsion and or arrest.

The teacher of the class had other words that students must never utter.

Since the new school year has not yet began in many state districts, is there a news article that would pertain to this report?

If this happens to a student in a government funded/tax payer funded public school, bring your attorney to school. And send your child to school the next day if they're suspended for this. Go with them if possible and record everything that transpires.
Who knows, by the end of it all you'll likely have enough money from the lawsuit to say that that bigot bunch in the government funded public school paid for your child's future college education. All four years! ;)

:mad:It is truly pathetic when those who staff a school, an educational facility charged with molding young impressionable minds to be able to think for themselves in future, are this stupid.

Those responsible for this disciplining of the student, from top to bottom of the staff roster, should be suspended without pay. There's naive, ignorant, and then there's anti-religious, anti-theist, fascist stupidity!

Where's the Christian legal defense groups? They should jump on this with both feet and the Turner family should sue personally every individual involved in this execution of abuse through their authority.

Problem is the 'higher' school officials are cut from the same totalitarian PC menstrual cloth.
The ACLJ would be verrry interested in this one.

Alliance Defending Freedom is aware of this insanity. Hopefully they'll pursue the issue before persecution of religious freedom has it so that a federal law is passed forbidding religious attire and symbols being worn in public here.

Meanwhile, the news is remiss in not naming the teacher in this case. Someone who should be suspended without pay and made to make a public apology to the student she violated.

Take a look: High school senior says she was suspended for saying 'bless you' WARNING: This website can be hazardous. Proceed at yout own risk.

Yes, Dyer County High School, is a public school.

The teacher made it very clear: “She said that we’re not going to have godly speaking in her class," = Teacher

"Where's the Christian legal defense groups?" Christian "legal defense groups" are vastly outnumbered by atheist defense groups. The atheist have the ACLU to support them in the courts with big $$$. The rule in America today is if your school board gets a 'cease and desist' letter, and you're operating on a tight budget, you'd better stop whatever they tell you to stop doing.

Yes, well the godless have their agenda and the Constitution has its authority. This teacher has no defense. And no atheist group can stand with her and argue that she does.
Liberty Law University has enough attorneys graduating that one would think they'd take cases that involve Christian oppression in America just so that they can later bring a civil lawsuit against the defendant(s) and the godless groups that joined their ranks.
The atheist activist groups think that they're going to exploit what they imagine is the pacifist nature of Christians, because you'll notice godless ultra-leftist organizations like FFRF don't target Muslims, or any other faith group but Christians, because they believe we'll roll over due to the turn the other cheek teachings. And others.

They believe we will not resist nor shall we fight back. And sadly, wrongly, many of us don't. We just concede they have a point and abdicate our own. And that sets a dangerous precedent before the army of demons like FFRF. Because once inspired by the concession of one Christian or group of Christians, they're inspired to trample the others they come across. Or that come to their attention.

We need to start a Christians religious freedom legal defense fund. Have on retainer Christian attorneys who can kick in the teeth of the godless who think they're going to not only strip the first amendment of our right to freely express our faith in public, but manufacture a new closet in which they think they're going to herd the sheep.

Make an example of the FFRF and others like it, and this teacher for instance, and those in authority at the Tennessee school who sided with her and gave this Christian girl an in-school suspension, the example!
That the Constitution guarantees our inalienable right to freedom OF RELIGION! While there is not one word in that ancient parchment that guarantees this nation to be free from religion!

Were this my child I'm make sure this teacher didn't have a class to worry about. I'd sue her personally, and I'd pursue charges against her with the governing body that gives her her license. I'd also take out an ad in the local paper that named her! And would post her latest yearbook picture as well.

That what flourishes as evil in the dark must be brought to light.

As a personal note, I didn't click the link in your remarks. The warning worried me that there may be a virus or some such there and that's why you posted that warning before hand. If it is a warning related to inflammatory speech, an edit to the warning you posted would be appreciated. I can handle any kind of speech. But I'm not fond of Trojans and creepy crawlies that like to invade computers and make them go frazzle.

Or, "Allahu Akbar"!
No kidding! That's because this teacher is an imbecile bigot. But she wants to live!
Cut off a few heads and a terrorist sect does tend to deliver a world wide message that says; don't mess with us or we'll kill you!

Like the Fort Hood terrorist Muslim that opened fire not that long ago. Media reported he was unstable, a radical, etc... But not one said he was Muslim.
Even when it was found out that the FBI had monitored him visiting terrorist Islam websites for over a year, and on the computers at the base, when the media reported that they simply said they were radical websites. Not terrorist websites.

Islam tends to make an impression when its name translates to, "submission". And the brand of peace it promises to bring is arrived at after its terrorists murder everyone not their kind of Muslim.

California school offers extra credits to students that wear Muslim clothing ("religious attire").

"Peggy Green, the Superintendent of the Byron Union School district says that the school is merely reflecting the California guidelines for seventh grade and that the students are learning about Islam in the same way that they learn about Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and other major religions." Per a website that reads between the lines and claims this is all just fiction: Islam in California Schools-Truth! and Fiction!

A public school that allows "learning" about Christianity? In California of all places? This isn't about "merely reflecting" anything other than Islam. As a wise old Arab warned: "Once you let the head of a camel into your tent the butt is soon to follow."

You be the judge.

"The course mandates that seventh-graders learn the tenets of Islam, study the important figures of the faith, wear a robe, adopt a Muslim name and stage their own jihad. Adding to this apparent hypocrisy, reports ANS, students must memorize many verses in the Koran, are taught to pray “in the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful” and are instructed to chant, “Praise to Allah, Lord of Creation.” Read more at Islam studies required in California district

The perfect solution is for each child in this teacher's classes to show up to her classes wearing BLESS YOU T-Shirts on. We had a similar incident here where a teacher confiscated a Bible from a student. The next Friday, every student in all of her classes went to her classes in a Bible T-Shirt with the words GOD LOVE YOU ON IT. I don't think that she wanted to confiscate all the shirts of the entire ninth and tenth grades. The teacher left the county school system before the end of the school year.

In a nearby school district the school superintendent told the FSA that they could not pray over the school's PA system at the start of ball games. About 25 students stood up with a bull horn before the National Anthem was played by the band and prayed for the game. They got a standing ovation, and no one left the game for being offended.

The will of the many can not be overridden by the complaints of the very few.

The story sounds a bit fishy to me. What does saying "Bless You" when somebody sneezes have to do with religion? I have known some teachers to tell kids not to say "bless you" after another kid sneezes because some kids will use it as an excuse to be disruptive, such as screaming 'bless you!' as loud as they can across the room. The problem is that we always just get one side of the story because the teacher can't defend themselves to the media.

Via Snopes.Com Are Islam studies required in California schools? Claim: Seventh graders in California are subjected to an intense three-week course in Islam in which they are required to pray to Allah and memorize Koran verses.

Status: Not quite.
