I've been following U.S. presidential cycles for a few decades now. So many presidential candidates are indistinguishable, when it comes right down to it. Sadly, many Christians are duped each and every time into thinking the GOP is "God's Own Party", when it's really just the slightly rightward branch of the uniparty system (the Democrats being the leftward branch).
The only one who has been markedly different was Ron Paul, and the media took every effort to smear him.

Sure. The media is everything in a presidential campaign. That's why candidates raise so much money. To afford the media attention.
And of course we can't forget that the power brokers who buy legislators own the networks. We know what we're told.
Someone who is outside the typical party trench is not to be tolerated. They could shake things up, call it like it is, clean the corruption, end the welfare state, etc...

That's change that would help make us a great nation again. And there are those in power who just can't have that.

I think we have a one party system at this point. They just wear labels to distinguish the game players when it becomes necessary.
And when a candidate who's a real comer who may actually change that good old boy network from the top down gets into the oval to give that a shot, you notice how they're morphed into the old shooter after they meet with the soon to be former president?
It's like that walk of power where, in the case of Bush43 handing over to Obama, the press covered them walking side by side into the White house. And we see that as a hand-off of the old guard unto the new. But once all the hand shaking and the camera's are gone they get down to the real business. And that incumbent is introduced to how it really is.

The mistake, which probably wasn't so in truth, that our forefathers made was at the inception of this country they didn't install term limits on all three branches of power. Washington helped to get term limits for the Presidency. And there is nothing in the Constitution that says the SCOTUS justices sit for life. But to not put term limits on the law makers was a travesty to freedom.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. When our senators can sit till they're 99 years old, the electorates apathy is demonstrated to have become a danger to this republic. We are why we're where we're at today.

And it's a darn shame that that probably isn't going to change. And now it's too late to change it by force, and we're too apathetic to change it at the polls. We re-elect based on loyalty to party and that same old same who we're told we should trust because they know the game.
But their gamesmanship is why life for most of us sucks. But somehow come that November day we forget that.

And they know it.

Agreed.
Not that I was ever a fan of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, but I remember George Bush Sr. calling the two of them "bozos" during the campaign in 1992. Once Clinton won and he met Bush at the White House, Bush emerged and assured the nation something to the effect of, "These guys are all right. We'll be fine."
I was only 21 at the time, but that was my first indication that something funny was going on.

Yes, I remember that. And now they're the best of friends traveling the rest of the world. And Clinton has even said publicly that he loves George Bush.

It's like pro-wrestling. There's the villain and there's the hero. But after the bell rings they're having dinner together and their wives are planning parties.

Bush 1 and Clinton were much alike politically.

What we need is not a republican, we need a true conservative since the republican party has left the conservative movement behind.

The Tea Party has been invaded and corrupted by republicans and with no voter id's and the ability for democrats to vote in republican primaries and influencing the election of Tea party candidates, the Tea Party may be ineffective as a conservative vehicle as well.

Carson is a conservative. Can he stand up to the vicious slanderous media attack that will come?

Time will tell.

Carson has no political experience, so he will not be able to win 2016 elections. This doesn't make him a bad guy or any of that, merely he is not fit to be elected President in the 2016 cycle. Carson has a decent enough personal story and background. I think it be wise for him to run for a lesser office to build up experience for a solid 2020 or 2024 run.

As for 2016, Hillary Clinton might very well be the only viable option.

If Hillary runs I think she'll win. Namely because the powers that be that work behind the curtain in this game insured the milestone of the first black president has already been overcome. The next one would be the first woman president. And given she was formerly SOS, she'll have a former president make history as the first gentleman also. And with his connections to the Bush family, there will be what amounts to three former presidents that stand to be in the White house with her. What with Bill being besties with Bush 41 now.

If Hillary makes president I think my aunt aunt will implode. She hates the woman.

Good point. And he's young enough to gain that experience and still qualify in 2020 or 2024.

Maybe that's just the tonic that the country needs. Someone with no political experience and who hasn't been tainted by it.

these straw polls are becoming less and less relevant...and so is iowa...i wouldn't take either of them seriously any more...

both come extremely early in the election cycle...and both are more and more dominated by extremists who don't actually represent the majority of their party who vote in the primaries later on...

There is that. But being they'd then be in the minority, they'd stand to be taken advantage of by those with the taint and the experience.

Quite possibly. They'd need to toss aside all these advisors that have occupied the White House on and off for the past forty years and bring in their own people who aren't members of the CFR or whatnot.

The only one who has been markedly different was Ron Paul, and the media took every effort to smear him.
actually the media attitude towards ron paul usually ranged from neutral to positive...ron paul was the left's favorite republican...and as we all know the media is dominated by leftists...

if the media actually made a real attempt to report truthfully on ron paul...he would have had to flee to russia by the time it was all over...because the dirt on him is a mile deep...

just to give one example...his campaign in 2012 paid someone $73,000 to switch sides and endorse him...apparently he didn't learn that corruption is bad after the 1988 election when people in his campaign also went to prison...

we've already tried someone with practically no real experience or qualifications...he's in the white house right now...

instead maybe what we need is someone who knows what they're doing again...

Whatever you want to believe. The media tried to smear Ron Paul or, at the very least, make him look irrelevant. Check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_WBo4sfmi4 , if you dare.

Ron or Rand?

Ron Paul is a wacked out nutjob isolationist who sunk the conservative candidates in the last election by exposing scandals.

Rand....mmmmm.

Hillary. She has the political machine behind her...but they do not like her, but they did not like Obama either. I would be surprised if she ran to be honest.

Possibly Carson is running to promote himself as a possible VP candidate.

Whacked out isolationist? Do you work for Fox News?
How's that interventionism working out for you lately?

the media was practically cheerleading for ron paul just prior to the 2012 iowa caucuses...

if the media had actually tried to smear ron paul he would barely be able to show his face in public any more...see what happened to herman cain...

and your youtube video is ridiculous...ron paul didn't get cheated out of the presidency...he tried to cheat his way into the presidency...fortunately it didn't work...
