P.S.: Rephrase post above:

I am saying that the fear of "evil" is beneficial.

I am saying that the fear of the consequences of "evil" is beneficial.

Would that include fear of God's judgment on one's sin, and

fear of God's punishment for one's sin?

Yes because judgment and punishment are evil if you have to fear them.

I'm thinkin' God is not in agreement that his judgment and punishment are evil.

I'm thinkin' with God they are perfect justice.

Is Jesus Christ your Savior from God's wrath on your sin (Ro 5:9)
through your faith in his shed blood on the cross (Ro 3:25)?

Yes Elin, I'm afraid I've gone to far the other way now to ever come back to bible God. He just doesn't seem as scary as he once was. I don't know what's happening to me, but I'm not so confused and bitter as I was when I was a christian, and everything I see in christians reflects how I used to be.

And I'm to afraid to go back to who I used to be.

I'm thinking that is a good thing.

I'm thinking God may be directing your path away from personal misunderstanding of him

to Biblical understanding of him.

I'm thinking to continue to trust him and pray the Holy Spirit give you a true Biblical
understanding of him, and realization of his grace and mercy in the cross, to those
in Jesus Christ through faith.

Elin, I've grown tired of hitting balls in God's court, if he want's me to know he's there, he'll have to hit a ball back.

He will. . .just don't get rid of your catcher's glove. . .and don't worry about it.

Get on with making a life for yourself.

Christians love to say "He will" but never "When"

I know, I know elin, in his time

But isn't that just another way of saying "He will" but never "When"

It matters not when. . .get on with your life. . .don't worry about it. . .just don't set your mind and heart against the possibility of him being there. . .don't have any expectation of him showing up. . .just leave it an open question which it is not your job to answer. . .stay neutral and get on without him.

That fear you experienced may not allow you to do these things now.

Elin, are you under the impression that I'm in some sort of crisis over the absence of God in my life?

No, I don't think you experience any crisis at all, but I do speak from the position of valuing God.

My remarks are prompted by two different responses to the experience of false Christianity.

One, where no absolute rejection of it was formed, and another where absolute rejection of it was formed.

The former turned out so much better for the heart of the individual than it turned out for the latter individual.

My dear Erin, of course in your mind my experience and understanding of God has to be false. Because you can't entertain the opposite conclusion without validating my experiences and understanding of God at the same time.
