I awoke to a gentle knocking at the door,
My friend was asking did I want more?
More of what came my reply?
Why of life, love and the spring time dance.
But my heart said I am old and disappointed,
I have tried and failed too many times,
I have talked and lost,
Found the pain and cost,
Too much.
But my friend said to me,
Look up and see your saviour die,
For you he took your pain and loss,
For you he bore it all on the cross,
To bring you the life and love you need.
So I got up and bowed low,
And asked my friend to forgive me,
To forgive my doubt and distrust,
To move me once again,
Because now I know he is My Lord,
Now I know I can die for His word,
That love conquers all
