In darkness pierces the most blinding light
Of burning glory and eternal might;
Her blazing rays of fear-striking power
Leads the mind unto heavenly bowers.

In ruin stretches the Merciful hand,
For those in storms at sea in search of land;
It is his fingers strong and palms Divine
Which shall always be our hope-giving sign.
