I swore to defend and protect,
This city I love, I have no regret.
In the oath I have taken, my sworn vow,
But when the city is breaking, how to I protect it now?

There’s riots against women and men like me,
Trying to do our jobs is in exercise in futility.
We spend so much time keeping angry, murdering, mobs at bay,
We have no time to solve crime to keep the criminals away.

I have no issue with peaceful protests,
It’s those who rob, injure and murder I detest.
We form a line to protect private property,
We get hit at, spit on, sometimes killed, my brethren and me.

We get called prejudiced when we apprehend,
A person whose skin is different than our skin.
It doesn’t matter if they committed a crime,
All that matters is skin color, time after time.

So now, I’m crying tears of blue,
For those I protect, my brothers, and me too.
There is no more government support and it’s such a shame,
We can’t efficiently work and our government is to blame.

So I’m praying for my brothers and sisters in blue,
Lord protect us, give us wisdom on what we are to do.
We lay down our lives first to our heavenly Father,
To protect his children, sons and daughters.

We are willing to give our very lives,
We are willing to give ourselves, to sacrifice,
For those who may never know,
To protect them how far we are willing to go.

I pray Father that you open their eyes,
Don’t let it be a surprise,
When everything in their world falls,
And we are still standing, our thin blue wall.

Where respect is earned, greater respect is given, much respect to those in law enforcement,
know that you are not alone there are still those who respect and pray for your safety everyday#Backtheblue

Are you a policewomen? If so good for you:)
If there ever was a modern day Knight in this day and age it would be a policeman or women. I have heard of many people saying how cops abuse their authority and I have seen this first hand as well but I also have seen many who show true honor as the police. many join the force not considering the badge, that badge means something it defines one who doesn't enforce the law by force but upholds it and only uses force when needed and has the sense of justice to know when to do so.

The motto for the police is to protect and serve and I think there is great valor in that having power and authority at your hands and yet choosing to use it for the greater good choosing what you know is right regardless of the cost and serving the people protecting the people. I do not bear this badge but I often times ponder what the badge means and what it represents, i think any people in blue should look at that badge and ask themselves what this badge means to them what does it represent.

I truly appreciate what you do my friend:)

No, not me I wrote it for some of the people I worked with though. I worked as a private security officer here in Kansas for almost 20 years. I served with some of the best of those who wear or wore a badge. I'm proud to call them not only friends but brothers and sisters. I'll pass it along to them though, they'll be appreciative of your kind comment.
