I posted this in another thread. But you folks in here might appreciate it, too. So here it is.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was listening to this earlier while meditating with the Lord and going to my "happy place".... :eek:
There was an incredible turning point in my life some years back. I had taken a break from everything and just launched out. Found myself on a snow covered mountain in the desert that winter. I was all alone with God. It was the greatest awakening of my life. I would love to go back there.
BRRRR!
I'ld rather have a beach scene with palm trees, gentle waves, clear waters, and ... other stuff.
I like all of the elements, all the seasons. None of my kids do though. All three moved from the east coast to get away from the bitter winters and relocated to: California, Nevada & Texas. I'm in Texas now, too but I do miss all the beautiful seasons of Pennsylvania.
A sociopath will cancel the needs and feelings of others for the promotion of his/her own selfish desires with a great ability to scheme and premeditate...no remorse. A narcissist is self absorbed to the point of a total lack of regard of others, like a vampire of the emotions, the more innocent the better. Again these are secular psychological definitions so how you tell the difference is hopefully discerned. Either way, not likely anyone here has those traits. I think the litmus test is, if you suspect you are one then you are pretty assured that you're not. Seesh, humans right?
What about Saul (Apostle Paul) in the Bible? Do you think he was a sociopath or narcissist before God gave him spiritual sight?
wow, that's a great question. I think sociopaths are more capable of murder, but they will do so covertly. Paul was open and wholeheartedly believed he was doing God a service. IMO narcissist are higher in number and can have different levels. Paul I think would have leaned more toward sociopath before his conversion. I've never met a sociopath, but if they are really good at being one, they would seem very likeable...maybe I have met one. :eek:
They did a study that 80% of CEO's are sociopaths b/c they don't care if they hurt someone to get to the top.....also some are psychopaths, the definition between the two is very similar except psychopaths have no inhibition/they will murder and not care whereas sociopaths are more calculated like you said...
I don't think any CC'ers including myself could call ourselves full blown psycho/sociopaths...maybe we have a few traits like turning off emotions/caring but other than that if we really follow the Bible we couldn't be a complete socio/psychopath....lol
I guess this is a more of a venting thread of not caring about things lol....each has their own particular things they don't care about... :)
I just thought of something.... probably none of us are without some psychological defects. King David was an adulterer and also calculated Uriah's death to cover it up. Abraham coerced his wife into lying to cover his own butt. Peter cut that soldier's ear off and also denied Christ. Solomon was a manic depressive in his old age. Samson was continually controlled by lust. Jacob was a manipulating liar. Rachel was a liar and a thief. Elijah was afraid and suicidal. Rahab was a prostitute. Jonah was defiantly hateful toward the Ninevites and wanted them annihilated. Gideon was paranoid. Zaccheus had low self-esteem because of his short stature. Paul refused to associate with John Mark. Martha was anxious about everything. Thomas was skeptical, even toward Jesus. James and his brother John were loudmouth bullies (Sons of Thunder). Timothy was sickly, probably had an ulcer.
And yet, we expect perfection from ourselves and others...I think they call that a paradox. Lol.
That fills in a whole lotta blanks. If you just think about poverty and world hunger vs the resources of the world just lying around? Yeah, there's some "CEO's" running things... I better stop there, they'll move this thread to Conspiracy forum. :rolleyes:
This is why corporations are bad. They are granted the same rights as tho they have personhood but they lack a heart.
Quite a list of sinners and dysfunctional people.....lol just kidding we are all messed up b/c of the sin nature....but b/c of each person's "hole in their character" that's what God worked on....for Gideon it was fear/paranoia but God made him a mighty warrior after slowly transforming his character....everyone on that list except for Solomon and Samson was transformed in some way by God to do great exploits. Samson died (one could say his exploit was killing a bunch of philistines) but he ultimately did not enjoy a changed life for very long, Solomon lost himself after starting strong for God and ended up living as a pagan/satan worshipper and loathing his condition of knowing the truth and exchanging it for a lie....
Probably making bowls, spoons, forks, etc.. from lead wasn't such a good idea back in the day.
