THE WORD!

The Word!


I was glad I heard somebody say,
That Salvation is the only way.
To our Lord, Jesus Christ,
For we know He paid the price.


My heart was filled with so much joy,
With a sigh of relief 'Oh Boy'
His Word touched my life,
Peeling away the flesh, of strife.


Now I know I am not alone,
My God! My God! is on the throne.
I shared the news with my spouse,
The blessing of God is in this house.


I continued to give God the praise,
Studying His word in amaze.
Remembering prayer change things,
Joy and peace with all men, it brings.


I know that the Word is really true,
Casting my cares on God, is what I do.
I learn to forgive and let go,
Of things that I need to out grow.


I can't express this enough,
That loving other's is sometimes tough.
I aim to be loving to God's people,
While residing under God's steeple.


I speak plain and bold, so I am heard,
Because it is, what is is, God's Word.
The Word I hide in my heart,
From me it will not depart.


Lord I thank you! I would say,
Give me direction for this day.
I am putting You first in all I do,
Not for me, but for You!

Nicely done ... I took an editorial liberty to modify the first stanza to change ' salvation' to 'faith'.

Okay, I can see why you think I should change the word to faith. Sounds good.

I thought the poem very well done. I lost my poetic license at one time by messing with people's poems. This makes me a repeat offender so I may get carted off to poet-prison. Pay no attention to me when it comes to form and meter, as I already messed that up. Faith and Salvation are important concepts tho so content also matters. Nice job with the poetry - keep going - mind to the contents as well.
