Poem dedicated to my son Nathanuel Lucas


At first I didn't want you
It was your life or mine
Health issues & depression
In no way was I fine
Sleepless nights were many
With heavy heart & troubled soul
I couldn't face the thoughts I had
And the attempt to let you go
As I settled with the hopes
Of a small and healthy you
Something went terribly wrong
And our world turned blue
The pains were close
Only a minute apart
I knew what was happening
And it completely broke my heart
Several hours past
Before the process was done
I sat there on the floor with you
Broken and alone
Looking down at you
My little baby boy
Ill never hear your laughter
Or get to feel your joy
You are now safe in Heaven
No pain will you know
Held in the arms of Jesus
And in Him you will grow
Precious Nathan you're in my heart
And forever you will be
One of my babies
One who's been set free
As I close this now
With a tear in my eye
Ill remember you always
But this isn't goodbye
Mommy will always love you
For you are a part of me
Only I am here on earth
And you have been set free

God, please bless CryingHeart1980 with the joy that can only be found in You,
and a peace that surpasseths all understanding, that she may find rest and respite
from the horrors of life that have ripped and have torn at the life she has worn
in such sorrow and pain while hoping to gain the Love that we know in You.

Hold her near and still her fears. Keep Nathan safe. May we all come
to know the beauty that is him; together we meet on that glorious day,
when all tears are wiped away. My Nathan is with your Nathan.

God knows the plans He has for you. Plans for well being,
to prosper you, and give you a future, filled with hope.
