He sent His Word

I took the Word yesterday and placed it on my lap.
It was a big family Bible, thick and heavy.
I felt warmth on the pages as I read.
And my heart drank His Word.
Like food,
Like medicine.
It felt like healing oil.
When I didn't believe, I never felt a glow from the Bible.
Now I feel it, like His love emanates from the pages.
Because I can feel His presence in the words,
Sometimes I clutch a Bible close to my chest as I go to sleep.
It helps ease the pain.
I long for the touch of His hands, so I hold His words close.
And I feel His warmth in the pages.

It's easier for me to share things openly, at this point, if I'm anonymous. But I'm not opposed to sharing my identity and more details about myself as I get to know people.
