The Letter of My Love

Hello dear friend. How have you been?... I've missed you more each day.

I write to tell you that I wait, for you to look my way.

I always see you through your day... I softly call your name.

Still you pass by so quickly, Does our Love remain the same?

The sunsets I have made for you... the moonlight and each star.

You never stop to look and see the beauty near and far.

I miss my time alone with you... I long for you to pray.

To speak the love inside your heart the words you never say.

Can you feel the tears I weep for you ...fall gently to your bed ?

Each time I watch you fall asleep with so much left unsaid?

This love I keep for you inside.... If only you could see.

I wonder do you Love me still? How much do you miss me?

Do you know How much I love you?... Do you know that still I care?

Can you feel my arms around you when the world brings despair?

Since time began I've hoped that you... would know the love I send.

To reach your hands out to me, and call me your dear friend.

Before you even knew my name.... I made a home for you.

To live with me forever, Far beyond the color blue.

I thought of you upon the cross.... I died because I knew.

You could not truly live until, I gave my life for you.

So I've sent to you a message.... Whispers on the evening breeze.

My love fills all creation. The rocks. The stars and seas.

The colors in each sunrise.... The mist and shades of gold.

Each day speaks of my love for you, always my heart you hold.

I dont write much poetry anymore was sharing some the last few nights that were written in my early 20s. This was my grandmothers favorite. when she passed i found the original copy in her old worn out bible tucked away in its pages. i was struggling with her passing and reading through her bible a few days after, i cant explain well but it meant alot to me that moment.

I know how you feel for her to keep something like that when you felt down to find was a hidden blessing.

yes poetice type lyrics was something she taught me as a kid, she had a copy of almost everything i had ever written in a box she kept them with those she had written, this one she had tucked away in her bible almost as if i was meant to find it. when she passed we all got a keepsake, most got Jewelry, i wanted Her bible so much for years before that and actually had asked her if i might have it someday. it was the coolest Bible i have ever seen in my life. the binding was so worn she had it since the early 70s. there were study notes written in many of the margines probably my most treasured possession....
