As the sun expires at day's end
Silhouettes of trees and things
Become shadows as lamplights flicker.
Nightingales celebrate a song
To anyone who would listen and even
Those who won't stop to hear.
People move this way and that
Time to sleep, lights out and dreams.
Out come the crawly things as
Their day begins; snakes and spiders
All in camouflage waiting, baiting the
Unsuspecting, careful not to be stepped on.
We daylight denizens miss a lot but then;
Do we care as we doze and snooze
Not really; because as we snore,
We trust God in His creation of life
As it is unfolding just as He planned.
Silhouettes of trees and things
Become shadows as lamplights flicker.
Nightingales celebrate a song
To anyone who would listen and even
Those who won't stop to hear.
People move this way and that
Time to sleep, lights out and dreams.
Out come the crawly things as
Their day begins; snakes and spiders
All in camouflage waiting, baiting the
Unsuspecting, careful not to be stepped on.
We daylight denizens miss a lot but then;
Do we care as we doze and snooze
Not really; because as we snore,
We trust God in His creation of life
As it is unfolding just as He planned.
