M
Where is this so called God of Elijah?
The God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob?
Is he soundly asleep in the heavens?
Is he hiding in the depths of the ocean or in the stars above?
I've ran to and fro, here and there, searched every nook and cranny, but to no avail.
Why does the God of Elijah continue to elude me and hide himself from me?
My doubts grow stronger and my spirit grows faint.
My soul yearns for Immanuel, but cannot find him.
My eyes grow heavy like bags of sand searching, my ears go deaf trying to hear a word, my feet grow weary from the
distance.
Where is the God of Elijah?
I pray but there is no response
I fast but there is no reply
The oil to my lamp has almost gone dry.
I shield my flame with my hands trying to prevent it's death, for even the smallest gust of wind can extinguish it.
I stand alone and afraid waiting for the bridegrooms return.
Darkness falls and my flame illuminates what little it can.
The accuser lurks right outside the gate, waiting for my flame to die.
He waits for the right moment to strike, so that he may devour me like a lion.
My body trembles with fear, my teeth grind, my bones ache, and the hair on my head stands.
Where is the God of Elijah?
Lightning struck, thunder rolled, fire flashed, and the earth shook and quaked, but God was not in any of these.
I heard in a low whisper in the dead of silence and in stillness, "Here I am."
"I am El Roi, the God who sees me. I am the one who makes his home in chaos and lays out the heavens like a blanket above the earth."
"I am the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob."
"The earth is my footstool and the heavens my domain."
"I am the God who created the waters of the earth and carved the mountains with my hands."
"I am the one who gives and takes life, the destroyer of worlds and the fountain of life."
"In my fury volcanoes erupt and burst destroying everything in their paths."
"In my love, I gave myself for the world so that many would be forgiven and saved."
"I give visions and I am in your dreams."
"I am with you even in darkness."
"Night or day it does not matter for I am there."
"I am in the deepest depths of the ocean and my throne exceeds the heavens."
"I am in every nook and cranny and see all things."
"My feet tread both water and lava, nothing is impossible for me."
"It does not matter where you flee to or go for I am there also."
"Even if you made your home among the stars and heavens I would drag you down from there."
"Even if you made your home under the mountains and crust of the earth I would uproot you."
"No matter how small you are I am smaller, no matter how big you are, I am bigger."
"Go to and fro as you may, but you will never be able to escape from The Great I Am."
"Soon I will come again and make my home among you."
"I will give you a new name and you will be my people and I will be your God."
"I am Immanuel!"
"Here I Am!"
"I am the God of Elijah!"
My response was that of the prophet Job, "I am unworthy--how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth. I spoke once, but I have no answer--twice, but I will say no more."
