In a sea of solitude my heart is still and calm,
My mind is buried deep beneath the waves
Of worries and troubles, oh how bothersome they can be!
As I lie awake, my eyes lifted to the vast blue skies,
Watching white doves passing by,
I feel a sense of peace and comfort,
Time feels ever so still and insignificant.
Remnant pieces of foggy, jaded memories collapse under new ones,
Replaced by sheer joy, warmth, and kindness
Resonating through every fiber of my body
I feel a love so deep breathed into my lungs
As I inhale each breath, my heart fills up,
As I exhale love pour outs.
I feel the touch of tender winds, embracing the smell of pleasant scents
Of Your sweet, intoxicating grace.
So unfathomable, yet so powerful.
How I long for the days where I'll get to meet You face to face,
Let my yearning heart burn evermore for Your secret place,
So that I will abide in Your presence, without any haste.

Thank you for your comment. It means a lot. I honestly wasn't sure if whether or not people would understand this or think it's too weird. lol.
I do think I understand it, or at least I will understand it the way I read it. ;) I do love reading your poem out loud, it really has a pleasant sound to it. :)

Poetry in my opinion should be read out loud. It just has this power to stir people it seems. I plan on reading my poems out loud to my church Sunday mornings. This will be my first time doing so, but I think it'll help me to get out of my comfort zone as well. Thanks again for your comment! :)

I like to read a lot out loud, also when reading books and other written stuff. ;) I can also read it quietly inside of me, but somehow it get's to me stronger sometimes when I read it out loud for myself. Then you can also add more emotion to it.

Indeed, it can stir people's emotions when read out right as well as if the words touches them. I used to read some of my poems in a church I went to earlier, it was very blessed to share my written work as well as feel encouraged back by their approval. You should definitively read your poems out loud in your church, not only because it is good for you to do so, but because you also write really beautifully. Your poems should be noticed, and cherished. Much Hugs!

Yeah, that's how I feel. I also read silently too, but when it comes to poetry, I read it out loud because it resonates more.

I read one of my poems out loud at church today! It was such a blessing to see how it stirred the congregation. I got a few positive feedback from others. They're hoping I'll continue sharing more poems with them. As long as God gives me the words to say, I'll keep doing it. If it helps them to love Jesus more. That's awesome that you did the same at your church. :D
