"Free Bird".
Sometimes I feel like a caged bird,
which is kept bound in this place.
A longing to fly free,
but it feels like I am chained here.
This cage may provide for me,
everything I need to survive.
I am well and safe,
yet I yearn for another place.
A place where I can be totally free,
flying amongst mountains and hills.
Admiring the landscapes from beneath,
having abundant joy from within.
Feeling the fresh air coming my way,
which makes me feel alive.
Finding shelter when the rain pours down,
resting there calmly until it's gone.
Breathing in the scents of nature,
which are much stronger sensed in the wild.
Closely observing every season passing by,
counting every memory cherished and sigh.
Drinking water from small riverstreams,
which flows down from snowy mountains during spring.
It is fresh and clean,
no dirt nor pollution seen.
Moving and dancing between the clouds,
having a feeling of majesty over me.
Elegantly moving from the left to the right,
perhaps with a few mistakes in between yet looking bright.
Joyful chirps given towards the sky,
tunes coming from a grateful heart.
Singing in harmony with whole of creation,
all waiting for the final preparation.
Whenever tired I can sit on a branch or in a meadow,
regaining new strenght to continuing my journey of life.
Flying through deep valleys and over deep blue waters,
perhaps also being observed by the watchers.
Oh how I long to be free like this,
being able to spread my wings and fly.
Flying far up in the sky,
where my heavenly King will abide.
